What to expect: There are now two Ritz-Carlton hotels in Boston. This is the hip companion to the traditional beauty three blocks away. The decor is contemporary and elegantly enhanced by a $1-million art collection. Artfully arranged orchids, jades, and miniature Zen rock gardens, along with background music, create a feeling of peace and tranquility throughout the property. Amenity highlights: The hotel offers valet parking, limousine service, and 24-hour room service. Guests are allowed free use of a fitness area and pool at the 100,000-square-foot Sports Club/LA Boston, an urban country club for local professionals. Room keys provide private access from the Ritz to the club. A variety of treatments, including massages, herbal wraps, pedicures, and manicures are offered in the club’s spa. Insider tip: The concierge has literature for guests who wish to take a self-guided tour of the hotel’s framed artwork and grand-scale sculptures collection. The concierge can also secure performance tickets, including movie tickets at the adjacent 19-screen theater.
JER-NE Restaurant - Chefs prepare contemporary American cuisine with an exotic flair in a lively exhibition kitchen. Steaks, chicken, and fish are seasoned with a fusion of spice and served on dishes in a variety of geometric shapes and sizes. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner and Sunday buffet brunch. The restaurant also has a private wine-tasting salon with an expansive wine list. JER-NE Bar - This is a light and lively bar for friends, coworkers, and theater goers. It’s open for lunch and dinner, offering such delicacies as white truffle chicken club sandwiches and Hibachi sautéed chicken in a peanut sauce. Lobby Lounge - The sophisticated wood-paneled lounge with comfortable seating is a perfect place to meet friends and coworkers. In the afternoon and into the evening, cocktails and light snacks are served by the fireplace. A guitarist entertains three days a week. On weekends, dim sum is served with a selection of 40 teas.

| The room was very clean and comfortable with expected furnishings. I am a large person and the bed set a new standard in comfort! I did however expect more ambience from a hotel in this price range. My wife thourghly enjoyed reading her favorite book in front of the oversized fireplace while I attended my meetings. If not for the savings I received by booking through Expedia.com, I would have chosen another hotel for the money. The Ritz Carlton Boston Common was upscale but did not reach the level of excellence in my opinion for the money. But it was very close. It deserves the 41/2 star rating it was given. It was obvious attention to detail is an important feature at the Ritz Carlton. With the savings I receive through Expedia.com I would stay again an recommend to a friend.

| We read the reviews on all of the hotels in the Boston area and selected this one because it was a Ritz and because of the pool(we have a young lady who loves to swim). When we arrived we were warmly greeted and our little girl was charmed by the staff! The lobby and bar/restaurant at street level was elegantly modern and the food was marvelous. The room was spacious and well laid out. The furniture and fixtures were all tastefull and highend although a little to traditional to mesh with the modernity of the public spaces. The only disappointment was that the LA sports club is only open to children for a few hours on Sunday. We never got to work-out together because one of us had to stay with our daughter.

| This hotel covers all the bases, including the feeling that every staff member, from the doorman and the parking attendants, to the desk personnel and the maid staff truly want to help make your stay there very special. Can't wait for another occasion to stay over in Boston. By the way, it's excellent location is significant.

| The rooms are teriffic. The service was marginal. Well below the usual Ritz standard. In adition, the location is not the best. The "Old Ritz" is in a much better spot.
