| The hotel itself was wonderful. The service was great. They didn't have our reservation on record, so we had to print it out in their business center. They gave us free drinks while they sorted that out. As with most service personnel in Taipei, English is not a problem. They were always ready and able to help us with any questions and arrange anything we needed. The location of the hotel is not central. This was not a surprise to me, because I read the reviews. You had to take a $3 cab to the subway that would get you downtown for about $1. If you add $4 a night to your room stay, this hotel is still cheaper and in better condition than most hotels downtown (according to other reveiws I read and my visits to some of these hotels during our trip). If you're planning to stay here, make sure you can be out all day, because there's not too much to do around the hotel and the neighborhood can be a tad sketchy at night if you're not used to Asian urban areas.
