What to expect: The mostly wood-paneled lobby area has a homey feel, with traditional Southern decor: a palette of dark greens, creams, and reds; fresh flowers; corn plants; antique-reproduction sofas, and pewter figurines. Low ceilings and heavy drapes add to the comfortable atmosphere. The hotel attracts primarily corporate executives and business travelers, many of them from the technology trade. Amenity highlights: Guests can exercise in the 24-hour fitness center or relax by the outdoor pool, which is open year-round. Benton’s Restaurant, located off the lobby, provides limited-hour room service, including the pool area. Business travelers can take advantage of complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby, a 24-hour business center, and 17,000 square feet of meeting space. Parking is complimentary and secure. Insider tip: To get downtown without paying taxi fares, take the free shuttle to the airport, where there is a MARTA train station. For $1.75 per ride (price subject to change), guests can use MARTA to travel to a wide variety of city-center locations.
Benton’s - This restaurant, located in the lobby, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is open from early morning until early evening. À la carte dinner items include pan-sautéed salmon, char-grilled New York strip steak, and Pinot Grigio mussels with linguine. The restaurant, with crisp white tablecloths, has a relaxed atmosphere. During dinner hours the lights are lowered, candles are lit, and drinks are served in blue-stemmed glasses. A small lounge area, also in the lobby, serves typical bar fare and appetizers in the early evening hours.
