Features
What to expect: Nineteenth-century writer Stendhal and Italian nationalist Mazzini both stayed at the Albergo Cesari, which has been a hotel since 1787. Located on a quiet street off the Via del Corso, a wide glass door leads into a pink marble-floored reception. Popular with politicians and other business travelers who appreciate the central location and quiet atmosphere of this family run hotel, it is also frequented by American, Australian, and European tourists.

Amenity highlights: The clean and efficient hotel occupies a historic building overlooking the former Stock Exchange with four floors of rooms accessible by lift from the marble-floored reception. The sunny breakfast room on the first floor offers a complimentary buffet breakfast, and there are two guest lounges at reception level offering complimentary Internet access, newspapers, an alcove bar, and television.

Insider tip: Take advantage of the knowledgeable concierge staff which prides itself on knowing the best happenings around town. Upcoming ticketed events can be booked through the concierge, if required. They will also point out the best local restaurants, according to your budget.

Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast each morning.

My husband and I and other travel companions loved the location of this hotel. It is within easy walking distance of many attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff very warm, gracious and helpful. We definitely would stay in this hotel again.

From the outside, the hotel looks old and run-down. And, because of the location (in an alleyway), my husband was not at all happy with me... until we walked in. The hotel was as I expected. The description on-line described it perfectly: it is quaint and small. The bedroom was clean and a nice size and the bathroom was small, but clean. This place had a great location- it was in the middle of it all! It was by the Spanish steps, The Trevi Fountain, and a couple of plazas. It was like being in Manhattan-by all the action: restaurants, bars and lots of people. It was FUN!

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located on a charming pedestrian street with restaurants, a coffee bar and a little store that had postcards, bottled water, snacks etc. We were in the front of the hotel so we enjoyed hearing the clinking of glasses and italian dialogue going on out our window. A true taste of Italian culture. Room was clean except for the Roman dust that makes it's way into all places throught the shuttered windows. Walking distance to lots of wonderful sights.

As a single traveler I sometimes get the low end on single rooms in Europe. But Hotel Cesari gave me the equivalent of a small suite (room #30)with a small sitting room, a separate room with single bed/mirror/closet, and a recently upgraded nice size bathroom. Good price for Rome, very central location between Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, nice breakfast, a helpful staff, and a PC with free web access in the lobby.

This hotel is within walking distance of many of Rome's attractions (especially the Pantheon). I only wish I'd known how to use the bus when I arrived at the main train station - it's quite a long walk (and difficult to find) from the station to the hotel but pretty quick on the bus. The room was in good condition.

First time traveler to Rome (and Europe) and booked everything online. The hotel was very clean, capuccino and breakfast foods were excellent and hotel staff was extremely friendly and willing to help. Guiseppe was awesome! Helped us with restaurants, obtaining train and bus schedules, etc. It truly exceeded our expectations! And the location could not be bettter, close to Trevi, Spanish Steps, Parthenon, etc. We even walked to Villa Borghese, which was quite a hike, but we enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend this place to others!

This hotel is perfectly centered in old Rome. We were within a 5 minute walk of the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Trevi Fountain. The Colesseum, Vatican City and the Spanish steps where just a little walk away. The room was clean. The street was quiet and quaint. The administration spoke English.

This hotel has been around for over 200 years but has the modern upgrades (sound-proofed windows, free web in the lobby). The location inbetween the pantheon and trevi fountain couldn't be better, and we overlooked a delightful square with old roman ruins. Helpful staff, quiet spacious rooms, good breakfast, and modern bathrooms make this a great value.
