We spent two nights at the Rio Grande Best Western and were quit pleased with the accomodations. The hotel is older but was clean. Maid service was wonderful. We asked for extra pillows and within a couple of minutes, one of the maids had delievered them before we had even closed our door. We had a courtyard-facing room and heard no noise from either the pool area or the freeway on the other side of us. The hotel is close to everything we needed. Old Town is within walking distance. Resturants were easily found at one exit east of the Rio Grande. The airport is barely 10 minutes away. The front desk was helpful and pleasant. We were in New Mexico dropping our daughter off at one of the colleges there. We were under a lot of emotional stress and Rio Grande helped alleviate some of that stress. It is not the fanicest hotel in town but it was clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a modest-priced hotel close to most attractions in and around Albuquerque, this Best Western might be for you.

I was very impressed with this motel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The pool was sparkling and the staff superb. I'm always leary of motels, preferring 4+ stars. But I would wholeheartedly reccommend this hotel to anyone.

We chose this hotel because we could walk to Old Town and because Best Western has a good name. All of the service reps we dealt with were unfriendly and very unhelpful. From their inability to turn on our phone for two days to the air conditioner that shook the whole room (or whole building if you consider that when ours was off, we could still feel and hear the one below us). We would never go back to this hotel.

The location was wonderful--just a few blocks from Old Town. The continental breakfast in the morning had a nice selection of food.

Old hotel. Keys did not often work. Staff was young and sometimes discourteous to older folks. Had to call security on a Friday night due to noisy young guests in hallways. Pool in the shade in afternoons. Snall hot tub. Corner sinks in room very uncomfortable to use.

Great location, friendly and efficient staff. The inclued breakfast bar is not very good though. With Starbucks and a wine bar next door, and a short walk into old town, you're all set. Just minutes to the air port and a gas station across the street to fill up your rental before returning it. I will stay here again on my next visit.

If one is to stay in Albuquerque, the location of this hotel is desireable . . . very close to Old Town and accessible to I-40 and I-25. You can actually walk to Old Town and the museum area. Most of the staff were very friendly and courteous. The weekday hotel bartender is/was very personable and interesting. A plus is the free airport shuttle service provided. The maid service (for lack of a better term) was excellent. Lastly, the hotel was/is in process of improving its decor via wall paintings, etc. Overall, a pleasant, clean, comfortable place to stay if one is looking to explore Albuquerque and its immediate environs.

Was a bit let down. Most Best Westerns are nice. This one was older and worn. Just wasn't as nice as expected.

Claims of Internet service are greatly exaggerated. Wireless is in lobby only and was down nearly every time I needed it. When I asked about that, the lady at the desk actually shrugged. Wired in room worked fine when I finally got a cable. Bring your own. When I went to biz center to print boarding passes, I had to fix printer setup. Satellite TV was intermittent, crashed at the ending of a movie I was really enjoying. Front desk was very uneven, some helpful, others couldn't be bothered. Restaurant staff were excellent, should set the tone. Mistake on my billing, was on hold for too long to correct it. Room was nice, frig was handy, location very good. No reason this hotel shouldn't be better.
