| While the attitude of the staff might seem pretty casual to those used to chain motels, and the rules more like your mother-in-law's rental, the Parkwood felt right at home to this Alaskan family. Slightly off the beaten path in a neighborhood of low-rent apartments, all the rooms back on a narrow birch grove, shielding guests from the hiway, and allowing open curtains and balcony doors. Reasonably intelligent children could be allowed to play in the grove with only casual supervision from the balcony. The full kitchen has certain advantages over a free breakfast. Bring your own filters for the tiny coffee maker...

| though the staff was very helpful, 2 stars is really stretching it. This is a very old apartment that apparently has been converted to hotel/suite. It has quite old carpet, furniture appliances, etc. seems too expensive for quality of what you get but Anc. in summer is expensive.

| Hotel staff is very nice and helpful. They made my stay enjoyable. Like the fact that the rooms have full kitchens in them allows you to not have to eat out all the time. Rooms are large and clean. Would be a nice place for a family. Very close to the Seward Highway. Had good prices for the room. The whole experience was a good one. I would stay again in this hotel.

| A good place to stay that is convenient to downtown, the airport, places to eat, and to the bases. Although, if you plan to prepare meals in your room, you will probably have to ask for pots and pans as our room did not have any.
