| I understand now why I had to pay a 3-night minimum in advance - no one would stay after seeing it in person. None of the ice machines worked. My room number was written on the door in Sharpie(!) This is solely for the budget minded who doesn't care anything about quality.

| Hotel staff friendly. Room was hot, air condtioning didn't work very well. Dirty towels in bathroom. No water pressure to take a shower. Last night in room a huge roach crawled across floor.Asked for water front room on top floor, didn't get it, we got a room looking at McDonald's.

| I was not impressed with this hotel especially for the money they charged. They checked us into a room that wasn't ready for occupency. The door wouldn't open or close without a great deal of muscle. They didn't have towels in this room. They did put us in a different room when I asked them to and said the first room shouldn't have even been on the list. The next room was a little better but it was damp and dreary. I still thought the hotel did not live up to its online image. I would not stay there again.

| Please take heed of other negative reviews about this hotel. It was very unclean and in bad disrepair - not worth the price. Please stay somewhere else if visiting Charleston.

| This hotel is not worth the money. The hotel is in poor repair and dirty. The people are friendly, but that does not make up for the lack of cleanliness abd disrepair. Pursue all other options before staying here. In fact, if you have to just stay 20-30 miles outside of town and cab it.

| After reading other reviews online, I was very nervous to check into this hotel. I guess the only good thing was that I had no expectations, so I certainly wasn't disappointed. Here are some things I noticed that I liked: - The location is good - minutes from downtown, Patriots Point, Folly Beach, Citadel, etc. If you are doing stuff outside downtown this is probably more convenient than a downtown hotel. - There is a computer and printer in the lobby where you can use the internet (free). - The pool and pool area were clean. - The towels were really soft. - The room was cleaner than I expected. - Our room was designated no smoking, and it did not smell like smoke. - I spilled a drink on the sheets, and the next day the sheets were changed. Here's what I didn't like: - No complimentary breakfast - The A/C in the room was super loud, so our TV was blaring whenever it was on. - I saw a few bugs (no roaches, just little mosquito-like bugs) in the bathroom sink area. - Not in the greatest neighborhood (but not altogether scary either). If you are traveling on a budget or are planning to keep busy doing stuff outside the hotel, this hotel will work just fine. If you are traveling for comfort and are thinking you might spend some time hanging out at the hotel, this is probably not the place to stay.

| The main areas of the hotel (lobby, halls, etc.) are in desperate need of updating (they smelled sour -- not pleasant). Our room, though non-smoking, smelled heavily of smoke. The sliding door to the balcony was not secure & they had to send up a maintenance man to put a bar in the slider as the lock was completely broken off & we were 2nd floor above the pool.

| The hotel looked fine for the price, but when we proceeded to our room and the key wouldn't work, the person at the front desk was no help. Actually, she was rude. Finally she gave us a new room and when we got in the bed was disheveled and there were beer cans in the room. It was awful. Not only that but the 'riverfront' hotel overlooked the BEAUTIFUL McDonald's parking lot... I felt like I needed to clense myself when I got back home. Terrible service, disgusting room, bad view. Not even worth the low price you pay.
