Features
What to expect: Formerly Le Meridien, this white stucco hotel with terra-cotta tile floors and artistic flower arrangements still retains its original French ambience. Valets await a steady succession of corporate guests at the brass-and-glass sliding doors, opening to a stylish lobby with alcoves for shops, hotel services, and seating areas in conversational groupings. Amenity highlights: Recreation options include three lighted tennis courts, bike rentals, and an outdoor swimming pool with spa, private cabanas, and seasonal poolside café located on a third-floor terrace. High-speed Internet access is available throughout the hotel for an extra fee.
Accents Restaurant & Bar - Contemporary French cuisine is artfully presented for breakfast and lunch in this bright, two-story atrium restaurant shaded by large cream-colored umbrellas. It faces the garden courtyard with ponds and fountains on either side. At night, the room dresses up with soft lights and tables set with fine linens. Reservations recommended for Sunday champagne brunch. Trianon Lounge - This bar and living-room-styled lounge, located behind the atrium restaurant, offers a sophisticated setting for cocktails. Early Bird Cafe - Coffee drinks, croissants, and other pastries are served every morning in this small outlet near the lobby. Calypso Cafe - This seasonal poolside restaurant with its own kitchen offers cocktails, American fare, and Saturday lobster cook-outs. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

| My husband and I spent a weekend here and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We were upgraded (without asking) to the Gold Level floor, which included continental breakfast, evening snacks and desserts, and all day coffee, tea, and sodas, all served in a classy private lounge. Public areas of the hotel were very nice, many quiet sitting areas, small but very clean and up-to-date workout room, pool and tennis courts with complimentary ice water. The air conditioning went out in our room on the first night, so we were moved to another room the next day, but this was done quickly and efficiently. Easy 10 minute drive to Corona Del Mar, Balboa Island, and a few minutes more to Newport Beach Pier(more traffic there). One draw-back is the very limited free parking. Valet or garage parking is 22.50 per day extra. Surrounding parking lots have entry gates and are for the surrounding office buildings. If you are staying on the weekend, the gates are open from Friday night until Sunday night, so you can selfpark right in front of the hotel, but not on weekdays. Overall a lovely hotel.

| This hotel is perfect for the business traveler. Its very close to John Wayne Airport with little airplane noise. The recently redone rooms are very comfortable with all the needed amenities. The hotel now currently offers valet parking only but the parking staff is very efficient.

| The customer service at the Fairmont was outstanding. From the moment we checked in, when they walked us to the elevator to the friendliness of the staff, it was so nice and comforting. Our room had a flat screen T.V. with a dreamy bed and beautiful marble bathroom. We couldn't have asked for better service.

| I could not find any space in the free parking lot whenever I returned to the hotel after 8:00 pm. So I had to pay $22 for an overnight valet parking service. In my room, I found that mini bar was out of order and requested to fix it. But, they didn't fix it for a week.

| I got a great rate through Expedia and for the price, I can't complain. We took the kids to the beach and paid a third of what it would have cost us to stay ON the beach. We only had a five minute drive, and they had recognizable breakfast places and coffee shops close to the hotel, so we weren't paying beach visitor's prices for all of our meals.

| Convenient location; get a map because the street it's on [MacArthur Blvd.] is sort of a diagonal to the normal grid pattern of other streets; good desserts; food good; front desk friendly; valent guys are friendly; good value especially if you are not paying rack rates; stayed here before; comfortable room; near airport but sound-proofing eliminates noise concerns; in the heart of a neighborhood of many businesses. Room service 24 hours altho not necessarily inexpensive.
