The Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is my best vacation ever. My husband and I were all inclusive guests for 13 nights and we do not regret it one bit. Even though we were all inclusive, we also smapled other restaurants on the island such as Iguana Joe's (located downtown Oranjestad in the Royal Mall) and Driftwood restaurant (also downtown and a short walk from Iguana Joe's). We enjoyed the food at Mangos and give it very high ratings. The people were the friendliest and most helpful people we ever encountered on our vacation. It was also my husband's birthday on August 31st and the staff at Mangos on their own made him a beautiful birthday dessert and had a candle on it as well and sang him happy birthday. They were told about the birthday when we placed our order and they went out of their way to make it a special birthday for his birthday. The flies come out in the daytine so it is best to order breakfast and lunch and eat it in your hotel room. Try to have dinner after 7:15pm when the flies are not there. The bed was perfect, we had a superior studio which was room 110A and it was perfect and steps away from the pool and beach. This place is amazing and I had to hold back tears when we had to check out after our 13 night stay. We plan to go back to Aruba in the next few months and we will ONLY stay at the Amsterdam Manor...they are like family.

I treated my girl to a secret getaway to commemorate our 6-month anniversary. I've been to Aruba a couple of times (both hi- and low-rise) and wanted something distinct - Amsterdam Manor was it, providing a perfect locale for couples. As written elsewhere, the level of service is friendly, personalized, and helpful. We had a wonderful room within steps of the pool - just open the door, walk to a deck chair, put aside your towel and sunscreen and jump right on in. The front desk provides de facto concierge services, and they advised us regarding restaurants, biking, and gym options. If you're looking for an active vacation, you can rent high-end mountain bikes for $10 daily. Two small asides: we did hear that the food at Mango's was not high calibre...we only ordered a calamari appetizer and that was fine. There are so many fine dining choices on the island - you need not bother eating at your hotel, anyway. Also, the sporadic odor issue will be rectified in the fall when the waste treatment facility is located on the island. Otherwise, I provide my highest recommendaton to the Amsterdam Manor.

We enjoyed the service and quality of the staff. When we arrived at the hotel it was under some construction and modifications (but it would improve the quality of scenery of the resort). The bed and couch were a bit uncomfortable. The matress was very hard and the couch had an unusual slant when you sat on it. The resort was near a sewage treatment plant and the smell was quite odiferous during early afternoon. The beach was extremely private and there was no background noise such as loud children. It was not in the "touristy" side of the island which made it peaceful most of the time. Will most likely stay here again given the opportunity.

We loved the peace and quiet, the cleanliness, the friendliness, and the proximity to other attractions without being right beside them. It was perfect for us.

A nice, comfortable hotel. It isn't high-end, but efficient and clean with a world class beach. Our standard studio had a money-saving kitchette, especially helpful as Aruba doesn't seem to "do" breakfast the way Americans do. One extremely nice perk was free internet access in the lobby -- great for keeping up with family free of charge.

Overall, it was a good experience. I was concerned with other reviews about the smell of sewage, but it wasn't a problem during our stay. I was pleased with the location, style of the hotel and condition. I was looking for a small, quiet resort and the Amsterdam Manor fit that to a tee. The only real negative was the mattresses, which were much too hard. My back was sore for most of the stay.

My boyfriend and I went to Aruba for my sister's wedding. We weren't sure what to expect but staying at the Amsterdam Manor was definitely a good choice. It is a very quaint european style hotel with great access to the beach!(Eagle Beach is right there),friendly service, (the staff was always smiling & extremely helpful in whatever we needed)and the hotel itself is very charming. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It has charm, location, great service and all for a great price. And without the noise of the high rise hotels. Great pick!

We were on our honeymoon, and had booked the "standard studio." When we arrived, we were told we'd been "upgraded" to a deluxe studio, and then led to a small, dark, dank room with a hotplate (as opposed to the kitchen we were expecting). The "deluxe" referred to the jacuzzi tub. We requested a different room, which was not available that day, but were moved to a beautiful, bright, spacious room with a great balcony and an amazing view the next morning. (It was a "standard studio.") From then on, everything was perfect. The staff was courteous and helpful. The beach is serene and beautiful. The restaurant is decent, but the service is lax.
