Grand Wailea Resort, Hotel and Spa- A KSL Luxury Resort Amenities
A 64,000-square-foot shopping arcade of international brand stores, a full-service business center (including cellular-phone rental), a jogging path, a night club, and an activity desk are just some of the many facilities and services provided by the 780-room Grand Wailea. One rare feature is a separate pool reserved just for scuba-diving lessons. Situated on 40 acres along beautiful Wailea Beach, the resort consists of five wings and a tower. Gardens surround each wing, and lawns spread far and wide. A reflecting pool overlooking the ocean sparkles day and night. Camp Grande is a children's resort all to itself—a 20,000-square-foot haven for ages 5–12 that includes a game arcade, a computer room, a restaurant, and a movie theater, and offers crafts, hikes, and Hawaiian cultural activities.

Recreation
Activity desks both in the lobby and on the beachfront can arrange tee-times at Wailea's three renowned golf courses as well as other courses throughout Maui, and can book play at the 11-court Wailea Tennis Club. The beachfront activity center rents out snorkel sets, scuba sets, ocean kayaks, boogie boards, hobie-cats, windsurfers, umbrellas, and other beach gear. Snorkeling and scuba-diving trips to the nearby island of Molokini—celebrated for the water clarity within its crescent—can also be booked through the activity desks. In South Maui, the following recreational activities are available:

Features
What to expect: From the moment they approach through a tree-shaded drive and pass a large waterfall, guests at the Grand Wailea recognize this 40-acre resort is something grand—in scale and in luxury. The resort features five themes: water (pools, hot tubs, a reflecting pool, waterfalls, koi ponds); flowers and trees (the world's largest resort landscaping project); sound (splashing water, music); light (the sun, tiki torches); and art (a collection that includes works by Picasso, Legar, Bolero, and Warhol). Families, honeymooners, and vacationing couples gravitate to the pools, but sunning lawns and the beach remain uncrowded. Amenity highlights: Spa Grande—a 50,000-square-foot, two-floor (one "wet" and one "dry") retreat of marble, mahogany, and Venetian chandeliers—entices guests from around the world to the men's and women's wings for luxurious water and mud baths, treatments, massages, and its signature chilled cucumber-lemon water. The spa includes 42 treatment/massage rooms, many with ocean views; a beauty salon; an enormous, two-floor fitness/weight-training center; all manner of fitness classes; a racquetball/squash court; and health/nutrition counselors and personal trainers. The Wailea Canyon Activity Pool is a 2,000-foot "river" that includes nine separate pools (including a sand-bottom toddlers' pool), seven waterslides, waterfalls, caves, white-water rapids, grottos, spa, sauna, and the world's first water elevator. More formal, the tranquil adults-only Hibiscus Pool overlooking the beach features a gold mosaic bottom, poolside massage, and spas. Insider tip: When open to the public, the Wailea Seaside Chapel located in the resort's most tranquil garden/lawn is worth a visit. Combining New England and Hawaiian influences, the chapel includes beautiful woods, 17th-century Italian glass chandeliers, a vaulted ceiling, and a stained-glass mural glowing in the sun.
Humuhumunukunukuapuaa - Named after Hawaii's state fish, this restaurant is comprised of a cluster of thatched-roof Polynesian huts. Guests may select their own lobster from the lagoon or enjoy local seafood prepared with island accents. Kincha - An authentic Japanese country inn surrounded by gardens, waterfalls, and 800 tons of rock from Mt. Fuji, Kincha offers a sushi bar and contemporary Japanese cuisine in a tranquil setting.
Grand Dining Room - Guests enjoy bountiful breakfast buffets and à la carte morning fare in this magnificent place, which has 40-foot ceilings and panoramic ocean views. Bistro Molokini - A blend of California and Hawaiian cooking comes from the wood-burning oven and exhibition kitchen at this open-air restaurant. Café Kula - This casual terrace spot is the place for coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Volcano Snack Bar - Located by the pool, Volcano serves light fare and smoothies. Grotto Bar - This swim-up bar in the Wailea Canyon Activity Pool specializes in tropical drinks. Botero Gallery Bar - Surrounded by nine huge dark-bronze sculptures by Fernando Botero, this stylish place is located in the tower's atrium and hums with activity in the evenings.

| Between the hotel, the pools, the beach, and its closeness to the Shops at Wailea, it has everything for a relaxing vacation. The adults loved it and the children thought they were in paradise! Food was good but expensive. Very family oriented, probably not good for honeymooners!

| We had a good time at the hotel. We spent most of our time at the pool. The kids had a great time. It's in a beautiful location and the staff are very welcoming. Take lots of sunscreen and sit back and enjoy.

| This hotel is one of the best to stay at when in Maui. You feel like never leaving the resort. The service is excellent, the staff friendly, the hotel is beautiful, the spa is wonderful, and the food is great. You can relax in a peaceful environment at the adult pool or bring the family and play in the incredible activity pool. It's a great place for everyone.

| The hotel is really nice. I had the Deluxe Ocean View, which was really great. Our complaint was the food. We had room service, which was OK, not what you would expect quality wise from a 5 star hotel. The Sunday morning buffet was terrible. If you stay here, plan on eating outside of the hotel.
