| This might have been an okay place before, it isn't now. Staff is slow to respond to requests, the property is oddly configured, the "free" breakfast is no great deal, hallways smell of cigarette smoke, rooms need an update. Heard a group obviously on the road alot say they were going to pull it from their preferred list because it isn't so nice anymore. I would agree. We won't be staying there again.

| I have stayed at this hotel twice now, both times with my two small children ages 4 and 7. It was clean and comfortable, the pool is nicely heated our rooms and the grounds were attractive. The little microwave and fridge came in handy for restaurant leftovers. Air conditioner worked well in the 100+ degree summer heat. One minor thing, both times we booked a room with 2 queen beds but this second time it looked more like 2 full beds to me than queens, but we were okay so I didn't complain. Since we visit relatives frequently in Bakersfield, we will probably use this hotel many more times in the future.

| The hotel lacks in two areas. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor and the ice machines are far away from the rooms in the front of the hotel. Other than those two minor inconveniences it is a clean hotel and we were treated nicely.

| When I arrived at the hotel the desk clerk said they did not receive my confirmation. I still got the room I paid for but the key cards they gave me only worked for a day at a time. I had paid for three nights.
