The 1885 - Classic restaurant serving contemporary and traditional cuisine with a selection of wines from all over the world. Dinner from 6.30 PM - 10.30 PM. Closed on Tuesdays. The Bakery - Shop specializing in gateaus, tarts, pastries, chocolates and breads. Freshly brewed coffee or tea. 10 AM - 10 PM daily. Farquhar's Bar - Range of tap beers, pub fare, and tapas. 5 PM to midnight, weekdays and 1 PM- 12.30 AM, weekends. Palm Court - Situated under the hotel's legendary dome, and serving a selection of teas, scones with cream and Scottish jams, pastries and petit cakes. Noon - 8 PM, daily. Verandah Terrace - On the promenade offering alfresco dining with views of the tropical garden and sea. Breakfast here during sunrise is a must. 6.30 AM - 11 PM, daily. The Deck - By the pool, serving snacks and drinks.

| Hotel was very impressive. The bed was as hard as a rock but did not take away from the charm. No real business center to speak of so leave the business as home. Lunch around the pool was cool!

| You enter the hotel, and a breeze of Glenn Miller floats through the elegant hall, putting you right into the time when this must have been the most elegant place in Malaysia. The whole hotel has been painstakingly renovated and presents itself in its original splendour. The rooms are actually suites, large and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. The service is excellent and personal, the staff very helpful. Sumptuous breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the sea, all little photo opportunities in itself. Overall, a great experience, not to be missed.
