I loved this hotel because it wasn't a chain and was just 1 block off the main square. Wonderful location, great breakfast and comfy rooms. The A/C is central so you can't adjust it in the room but the windows open slightly.

The breakfast, room and general look of the hotel were great. My only complaint is that some rooms do not have air con. Be sure you ask if you're going during a time that would be necessary. The staff graciously moved us to a room that had it after we asked. They had to reconfigure the beds, but they did that without complaint. I'd return without hesitation.

The Classic Old Town is a nicely situated hotel and only a five minute walk from the Main Square. However, the rooms are not air conditioned and Krakow can get hot in the summer. The hotel provides a fan, but if you're looking to stay really cool, choose an air conditioned hotel. The breakfast is very nice with lots of choice for everyone.

Don't let the name fool you, this place is not old and beat-up (a.k.a. "Charming"), but more modern and up to date. Ikea type furniture, Granite walls and stairs, modern elevator. Looks like the place was completely renovated...maybe three years ago. Good breakfast, nice staff. The location is great, city center 5 minute walk, train station 10 minute walk. Great value.

The Classic is in a convenient location less than ten minutes' walk both to the Cloth Hall/city center and the train station. My (double) room was quite a bit larger than what I generally have experienced in European hotel rooms. In spite of the proximity to both the city center and a bar next door, I did not have any issues with noise disturbance. As far as service, staff members were friendly and helped in providing directions and maps, dining recommendations and calling a taxi to take me to the airport at my requests. I also ate breakfast at varying times on three different mornings, and the buffet consistently was restocked. This hotel is not overly fancy or elegant. However, it seemed to be clean and well-maintained, and I had a comfortable and hassle-free stay. I think it was rated about 2.5 or 3 stars, and that seemed about right. The location was great for exploring the main tourist attractions. I even walked from the train station to the hotel with my luggage, although I had only a small amount. One surprise was that in spite of my on-line booking, which appeared to include taxes, I was asked to pay a "daily tax" surcharge at check-out. It amounted to less than one U.S. dollar per day, so I didn't question it or investigate whether it may have been part of a "not included" statement somewhere. Overall, I found this hotel adequate for my needs and would stay there again.

excellent location in old town of krakow. hotel is neat and clean and functional, no charm at all. desk-help varied. good breakfast included. for the same price, or very little more, one can get much better accommodations and more helpful suggestions from staff.still, if you do end up at this hotel, it's good enough.
