The hotel was ideally located for may of the attractions in Cozumel. Local shops, Discotheques, Restaurants, the museum and ferry terminal and several dive operators were all within easy walking distance and some of the resort beaches were only a $10 taxi ride away. The staff were very helpful and friendly and were constantly ensuring the facility was clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast provided a large selection of food and the waiters were quick to refill coffee or juices or remove used dishes . The room was well maintained and on several occasions it was checked after maid service to ensure that it was satisfactory.

Other than the room having a funny smell upon entering it, once the A/C came on, the smell went away. Very clean and very comfortable. One of the better hotels with an ocean view in San Miguel - and quiet too! The breakfast buffet is outstanding.

It was our first time at Cozumel and this hotel made a good impression. It was one of the cleanest hotel that I can imagine!! Staffs were friendly and the people at the front desk speaks english well. The furniture was nicely organized and spacious! The safety deposit box is free of charge (Not big enough to put a laptop). Oh yes, the morning buffet was great! The Pool is nothing big but enough for one to cool down from the heat. Bartender is a nice guy and the small bar they have was cozy. One slightly negative thign about the hotel is the slightly moldy smell from the AC. However, this is probably true with all the hotels since the humidity in the island is crazy!!

Casa Mexicana was a perfect retreat for us on Cozumel. It's right in town on the waterfront, so you can easily walk to all the shops and restaurants in town. There is a little local beach at the north end of town, only a 5 minute scooter ride or 10 minute walk down the waterfront. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious - the perfect thing for getting a good start to a day of exploring the island. There was always fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses, and traditional American breakfast foods that varied by day, including hashbrowns, eggs, breakfast meats. They also had a build your own omelette bar, and fresh made empanadas. The pool was tiny, really just for a quick dip or refresher after suntanning on the deck or returning from the beach, so don't plan on 'spending time at the pool' - it's not that type of pool! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and hotel were always extremely clean. We had a view over the main street/waterfront, so you could see pretty vistas of the water. Enjoy the hotel! It's perfect for an adventurous traveler who wants to spend the day on the island and have a cool and relaxing retreat upon returning from all the available excursions.

My husband & I stayed at Casa Mexicana for 5 nights. We arrived at noon, were able to immediately check-in & were offered moist towels to refresh us after our travel day. The hotel is spotless & nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet was good & varied daily. We had a city view room (we could also see the water) with balcony. There was construction next door (in the evenings) & music from Senor Frogs/Carlos & Charlies was loud, but we closed the sliding door at night & the noise didn't bother us. The housekeeping staff did a great job - they made animals, bows, etc. out of extra bath towels and left candy - a nice touch. The front desk & concierge were knowledgeable & very willing to help. The pool is shaded & shallow - more for cooling off than swimming. We enjoyed sitting out in the evening & watching the street activity and sunset. The hotel location is convenient to shops, restaurants & taxis. Our only (minor) complaint was that our room's safebox was inoperable. However, we were able to use the hotel safebox during our stay. Hotel clientele varied (leisure & business). There is a business center with Internet access. A scuba shop & dock are close by. If you are looking for a resort with lots of activity, this isn't the place. However, if you are looking for a quiet, clean, well-run, convenient hotel, Casa Mexicana fits the bill. It exceeded our expectations.
