| I would highly recommend this hotel, with one caveat - the beds are extremely hard, so ask them to fold blankets and put them between your bottom sheet and the mattress. The front desk told me that all of the mattresses were the same, so I do not think that this was just a function of our room. Other than that, the hotel was beautiful, it had two computers that were free for guests to use - very nice for double checking addresses, etc. of restaurants.

| This is an attrative and well maintained hotel in a residential neighborhood. It is walking distance to the main train station, which has connections by train and bus to the airport. It is also near (3 blocks) from subway and on several frequent bus routes. It is too far for most people to walk to the tourist attractions, but Barcelona is a spread out city so you will probably take the subway no matter where you stay. However, if you are only staying a day or two and you wish to focus on the Ramblas and waterfront, you may find this hotel is too far out. Public rooms are very attractive. Staff is helpful and speak English. Two free internet terminals in lobby. Front of hotel faces busy street; back of hotel faces small park and apartment buildings. It is quiet after children go home for supper. My only complaint was that room was small and only had desk chair, no arm chair for relaxing or reading. Bath was large and attractive. Breakfast looked wonderful, but it cost 14 Euros so I ate at cafe. Many shops, including large grocery, and cafes nearby. Few full service restaurants within walking distance.
