| We read the reviews before booking...and again before departing. After all, my wife is very demanding when it comes to motels/hotels. The negative reviews gave cause for thought. But, our room was clean and quiet. Our rental was not stolen; the lot was well lighted. We heard no sirens. The complimentary breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon, sauage, juice, and coffee was a great way to start the day. Those who prefer to not breakfast in the hotel will find Denny's and IHOP just a short distance away. IHOP gives a 15% military ID discount all the time. And, Neo's Wood-fired Pizza just across the street was terrific. We're glad we stayed at this Red Lion. My wife had no complaints and no difficulty sleeping.

| Red Lion has always been a pretty good bet, but this location dissapointed. The room itself was comfortable and clean, but the following problems were dissappointing: Our room looked out onto a lower roof, which was littered with a jumble of old silk plants, broken lattice work, rags, tarps and other trash. The cable box quit working right after we bought a movie. Maintainance came to the room and simply disconnected the box. We were not refunded the fee, hotel management told us that it was an "outside service, which they were not responsible for." The bathtub above ours leaked, and there was a constant wet spot on the carpet in our room. On Saturday at 1:30 AM in the morning, the fire alarm went off. All guests stood outside in the cold for 45 minutes with no direction from Hotel management. The Fire Marshal indicated that the alarm had gone off due to a defect in the sprinkler system, and that this was not the first time. Finally, there is a low-rent casino directly adjacent to the hotel, and the Tacoma Police were there at least six times in the three days that we stayed. On the plus side, the complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Had we not gotten a decent deal on this hotel through a package deal, we would have been even more dissappointed.

| Just seemed a little run down. And even though I had a smoke free room, I could smell smoke very easily in the hallway. The people working there were friendly and helpful.

| The hotel is in a questionable area with little security. My car, one of two, was broken into and contents stolen in the middle of the night. The staff was useless in helping me as a guest. They were unprepared for an emergency. A police report is on file.

| The staff was friendly and excellent customer service. The swimming pool was well maintain with a water temperature of 88 degrees. The hot tub was OK, however, the air jets did not work. The continetal breakfast was OK. Easy access to and from I-5. You can't go wrong with this hotel.
