Very nice place, good service. Drinks are only national and not very good, so if you think to go to an all inclusive to drink a lot, that's not the place. If you go in a family plan, is perfect!!!

Barcelo Resort made this vacation "stress free" with their all inclusive package. The only thing I had to worry about was the next activity that my family was going to do next. If you are looking for a family oriented, worry free environment with a variety of events to entertain your group with, this is the place

Having stayed at Barcelo Maya Beach Resort and being so impressed I chose to stay there again on my most recent trip to Mexico. I had raved about the resort to my fellow traveler prior to arrival and was thrilled when we arrived. Not only was the resort as beautiful as I had remembered, they had managed to make it even better! The upgrades are fabulous! The staff, the food, the rooms, the service and of course the location.......nothing short of wonderful! The white sand beach is gorgeous and the pools are fantastic! I will go back as soon as possible!

We just arrived back from our vacation and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! This hotel actually was way above our expectations based on other reviews we had read and also based on pictures we had seen. For some reason we were placed in Colonial, though we had booked Beach. I will agree with the other comments people have written that this side of the hotel was VERY nice!! We did walk over to enjoy the open buffet at the Beach side - we liked the atmosphere of the open restaurant by the fountain. We also walked over to the beach on the Beach side and definitely decided the Colonial Beach side is where to hang. This was our 5th time to a Riviera Maya all-inclusive resort and this one would have to be our top pick! (after the one we got married at that is : ) And that includes great food quality, # of items at the buffets, water sports availibility on-site (jet skiis, parasailing, etc), just to name a few. Our one disappointment is that all of the room service items are not available 24 hours (after 10 pm you can only order salad, soup, fruit plate, or a ham sandwich). We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I just returned from the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort for our 10th anniversary, and it was truly a delight. We found the staff to be extremely helpful in assisting to any need, and the ammenities at the resort (especially the pool) were great. One note...On the resort there are four different complexes for travelers to stay. If possible, be sure to ask for rooms at the Tropical or Colonial (where we stayed) because the upgrade is worth it. Can't wait to return next year.

What a resort for the price!!!!! It was great! Everything was very well kept and clean. Service was great, and the beach was beautiful! I would come back here every year if I could! The only complaint that I had was the bed in the room was solid as a rock. The bed was just to firm. The room was really nice though, other than the bed. The food was great, the buffet was just like eating at a resturant 3 times a day. The shows were good and they had a lot of entertainment on the beach. It was our first time to Cancun and I can't wait to go back!!!

Our third trip to Mexico-once to Cancun and twice to Playa del Carmen. Our first time to stay at Barcelo. Loved everything about it. Great beach, food, drinks, pools, service. We ate at the Seafood and Mexican restaurants and both were very good. The buffets were also good. We did take glasses along as we had heard the bar glasses were small and they had no problems filling them. Would highly recommend the Barcelo Maya.
