Features
What to expect: This 1930s landmark has been transformed into an intimate hotel with a residential feel, with French limestone walls, inlaid onyx floors, antique chandeliers, and a notable art collection. Attentive Ritz service and the prime location attract sophisticated business and leisure travelers. The spa offers European beauty treatments and a full fitness center.

Amenity highlights: Multi-line cordless phones, evening turndown, scented candles, a Bath Butler, complimentary shoe shines, in-room spa treatments, and special amenities for children are among the many personal services. A library of films is available for the in-room DVD players. For rainy days, the Ritz-Carlton offers the use of trench coats for men, women, children, and even pets. The hotel’s gemologist offers private services for guests interested in purchasing upscale gems without leaving the comfort of their guestrooms.

Atelier - This intimate 70-seat restaurant serving all three meals is decorated with sycamore paneling, contemporary art and sculpture, and soft leather-and-silk banquettes in mint-and-celadon tones. The menu for lunch and dinner offers modern French cuisine emphasizing seasonal ingredients and herbal accents. Especially recommended are seafood dishes such as Halibut Poached in Saffron Broth or Sea Bass with a Piquant Grapefruit and Mustard Sauce.

Star Lounge - Elegant drawing-room decor in pale green and gold is a warm setting for all-day service of coffee, lunch, appetizers, and cocktails, and a menu offering dozens of tea varieties. The Star Bar between the lounge and dining room is a popular gathering spot.

From the moment I arrived I felt like a king. Everything was taken care of and if I needed anything, the concierge service was second to none. Located on Central Park South, the hotel is within walking distance of subway entrances, Central Park, the new Apple Store, FAO Shwartz, and Time Square.

It's a shame you have to pay so much for this kind of service, but it certainly makes you want to do it. From the second to step out of the car to the second you walk out for the last time, you are treated like royalty, even if you aren't! I look forward to visiting again!

The room was smaller than I thought, but I guess it can not help it since the hotel itself is pretty small to begin with. The bed was very comfortable and the room service/housekeeping were very prompt. I enjoyed the location (right in front of the Central Park and a block away from the fifth avenue shopping area). It was very easy for me to get a taxi in front of the hotel, and it took me about 15 minutes (max.) to go everywhere anytime.

My husband took me to NYC for my birthday. We attended the Rent 10 performance, and he wanted to pull out all the stops and do the trip right. Since the Ritz-Carlton has a reputation for luxury and quality , it was his first choice. We were not disappointed. We knew our stay at the Ritz-Carlton on Central Park would live up to our expectations from the minute our car door was opened. There was no reluctance in the pace of the staff. We didn't have to wait for them to do their job. They were on the ball and really seemed interested in doing whatever it took to make our trip perfect. The staff was diligent in making sure that they had done all they could for you without being a pest. Living in Orlando, we have experienced rather lackluster customer service by high school students whose only concern is a paycheck not providing guests with the service they deserve. The staff at the Ritz renewed my faith in the state of customer service. There really is a place where the staff genuinely cares about the experience of their guests.
