| It's pretty, well-sited across the road from the Jal Mahal (the water palace), away from the hustle and bustle of the old/pink city (where it is extremely dusty and dirty), and is half way between Amber fort and the old/pink city. Things we didn't like- 1. Given that this was a reasonably expensive hotel, there was no provision of bottled water (they can give you a jug of normal water if you ring for it, and presumably, they are looking for a tip when they bring it to you) 2. Although there was a sign in the room which says you were *not* supposed to tip anyone individually, they would hang around and hang around, hoping that you would! 3. Like it was with pretty much everywhere we went to in India, the expensive hotels were terribly *unhelpful* with suggestions of cheaper options. Example 1 - We asked about the cost of various options for transfer from hotel to airport and we were given only the cost of private car transport provided by the hotel. They were *not* able to help with the cost of a normal taxi or with the calling of normal taxi to take us to the airport. Example 2 - whenever we chose something from the menu, the waiter would always suggest a more expensive dish that we ought to try instead. It gets pretty irritating after a while...

| Liked the hotel a lot. Very good food, well trained staff, good room and has large garden and a pool. Very good refuge to relax after a day in the hussle of Jaipur. Had room facing road across the garden which gave a beautiful view of lake with an old palace in the center. Location is 20 minutes north of Old City on the road to Amber Fort. Short walk toward Jaipur to small misc shops and alternate restaurant. Can order taxi or take 3-wheel "auto" (auto costs INR 60-100).
