Heathman Lodge Amenities
This four-story hotel has the ambience of a hand-hewn rustic mountain lodge, but is located in a business area five miles from downtown Vancouver and 13 miles from downtown Portland. Thick timber posts, a huge stone fireplace, wood-paneled walls, vintage Pendleton blankets, a totem pole, and specially commissioned artwork create a Northwestern look in the two-story lobby. The hotel has an indoor lap pool with spa tub, sauna, and an adjacent fitness area with free weights and cardio and strength-training machines from the locally based Nautilus company. The lobby offers complimentary wireless Internet access. Complimentary laundry facilities are available on the third floor. This hotel is an entirely nonsmoking property as of January 2005.

Features
What to expect: This hotel feels like a rustic mountain lodge, yet is five miles from downtown Vancouver. A 24-foot cedar totem pole guards the lobby, which has slate floors, wood paneling, a huge stone fireplace, vintage Pendleton blankets, and much Northwest-inspired artwork. Business travelers fill the hotel on weekdays, and on weekends it’s popular with leisure travelers.
Amenity highlights: In addition to an indoor lap pool with spa tub and sauna, this hotel has a 24-hour fitness area with cardio and strength-training machines. Amenities also include complimentary wireless Internet access, three grand fireplaces, a large collection of specially commissioned artwork reflecting a Northwest theme, and a restaurant and lounge serving American comfort food and seasonal Northwest dishes.
Insider tip: A brochure offers details about the hotel’s Northwest-inspired paintings, carvings, textiles, and sculptures. But only eagle-eyed guests notice the anachronistic detail that Henk Pender painted into the 21-foot mural hanging above the dining area in Hudson’s Restaurant. (Hint: the settlers probably didn’t have electricity.)
Hudson’s Bar & Grill - Classic American dishes and seasonal Northwest comfort food, such as Pan-Seared Halibut, Horseradish-Crusted Salmon, and Pancetta-Wrapped Venison Strip Steak. Desserts include Campfire Custard, and Caramel Apple Napoleon. Open kitchen, slate fireplace, and high ceiling. Extensive wine list. Adjacent lounge with jazz and contemporary music Wednesday-Saturday evenings. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

| This was my first trip to the northwest. The Heathman lodge was the perfect place to stay. I got a room with a kingsize bed. It also had a couch, coffee table, another chair with a table, and an entertainment center. I loved that it included a fridge, microwave, a sink inside and outside of the bathroom, and a huge window with a good view. The rustic lodge feel was perfect for this area and the service was outstanding. The 4 star restaurant "Hudson's Bar and Grill" also adds to the quality of the hotel. The only small improvement they could make would be to have a sign on the street so you could find the place easier! Otherwise, it is the perfect place to stay. There is a mall within walking distance and you are minutes away from the interstate. If I come back to the area, I will definately stay at the Heathman again.

| The Heathman Lodge is a wonderful hotel that gives you a definite "Lodge-type" feel. The rooms are spacious, quiet and nicely decorated. The Hotel Bar & Grill - Hudson's - is upscale but not too pricey. The food is wonderful as is the service. Great price for the luxury feel.

| I can't say enough about the Heathman Lodge. The room was spotless, comfortable and the bed was awesome. The staff was very professional, yet down to earth and very helpful. The room was well worth the rate. I will stay there again. The Lobby is so nice you may not want to go to your room.

| This was a nice place to stay for the money. Nothing nearby in terms of attractions, but not much in Vancouver anyway. Near a mall and lots of places to eat. Don't recommend the restaraunt for breakfast, it was pricey and the portions were not very large. Otherwise, highly recommend!

| We have stayed at several hotels over the last few years and this was hte best one yet. It was spotless and the people were happy when they greated you entering the hotel and leaving. They called five minutes after we got to our room to check on the room status. I will be staying at this hotel again very soon.

| We stayed here the night before an early morning flight and wished we could have stayed much longer! Our balcony put us so close to the pine trees we felt like we could touch them! For a fair sized hotel it has all the ambience and coziness of a little cabin, Staff was friendly and helpful, everything was clean and the only slightly negative aspect was that the menu prices were a bit steep. Highly recommend this!

| Nice hotel, good service and clean. The daily newspaper was a very nice touch as well as the in room coffee maker. If you have the chance, make reservations at Hudson's (the restaurant at the hotel) and enjoy a great dinner.
