| Lots of worn carpet in hallways. Bedspread had cigarette burn marks. Free breakfast was OK though.

| The only reason I stayed here was because it was part of a "package". The Hotel is in dire need of a remodel and an upgrade---everything felt shabby and old. When I checked in to my non-smoking suite, the sofa-bed was opened and disheveled, with the cushions thrown on the floor; the toilet hadn't been flushed, and there was a cigarette butt floating there. The Continental breakfast was served in a dark, dreary, hot room, and the buffet area was very cramped. Most of the time I didn't even need my key card to enter the building through the various available doors, as they weren't securely closed-that didn't feel very safe. The staff was friendly, and very accomodating when I needed an early check-in and late check-out. My room was cleaned and vacuumed daily, and the king-sized bed was very comfortable.

| This Howard Johnson motel was very close to I-95 and the University of Delaware. The Continental breakfast was generous and included two waffle irons to make your own waffles. Unfortunately, the batter for the waffles was not very good i.e. waffles were a little bland and chewy. There was a nice selection of other items including fresh fruit, cereals, and yogurt to make up for the bland waffles.

| We had a great hotel experience at this hotel. After flying all night, they let us check at 10 a.m. rather than wait until the regular check in time. We had a king suite room which gave us a lot of extra space. The room was not fancy but was very clean and functional. The interior hallways and exterior of the hotel were a little rundown but the carpet and furnishings of our room were in excellent shape. We especially appreciated the free wireless internet access and the convenience of being near a major highway and restaurants. The hotel was quiet at all times although there seemed to be many families staying there while we were there.

| ...and stay somewhere else. This place is insanely overpriced, dirty, in desperate need of a remodel and the staff is not at all helpful. They got everything wrong about our reservation that they could possibly get wrong and then they wanted to argue with us about how it couldn't possibly be their mistake! Good thing we brought our reservation/confirmation paperwork with us. We are not difficult people to please but this place was awful.

| We stayed at this hotel in Newark DE for a total of four days but would have left the first night if we could have gotten our money back. It was dirty, there were roaches in the hallway, the whole place smelled and they put us in a smoke filled room. Guests were loud and ran through the halls at all hours, there was no elevator in our building and we were on the 3rd floor and there was mold in the air conditioner. One night an alarm clock went off in the next room for a solid hour and we couldn't sleep. It took three calls to the desk to finally get them to turn it off. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay here again.

| We prefer this hotel because of its location near University of Delaware, where we come to visit our son. Very convenient and the price is the most affordable that we can get, also it is close to restaurant.

| Non smoking room had 2 cups of butts on balcony and chair outside room smelled, maid service was so so but that seems to be the norm for many hotels these days, ie forget to leave coffee, towels, cups etc. Ho Jo's is getting sort to the point of needing to get new beds and clean up it's act. We stay there because it's cheap and close to UD. We will probably keep staying there when we visit Newark
