| Just got back from a nice Labor Day WE in Quebec City with my wife and daughter. The Clarendon was an excellent place for our visit. Given the Very reasonable room rate, we weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised by: spacious room and bathroom; clean, well-maintained (almost spotless) hallways and room interior; a friendly staff at the front and bell desks; cozy lobby with nice period atmosphere; and a location at the very heart of the Old City. All in all a great value. Only complaints -- the walls (at least in our room) seemed somewhat thin, as we could hear very well (and were kept up almost all night on the 2nd night by) the boisterous neigbors in the adjoining room.

| The Hotel Clarendon is a nice hotel situated in the middle of Old Quebec. It is an easy but sometime hilly walk to all the major sites. Do not miss the Jazz club at the hotel, the musicians were wonderful.

| I loved the location of this hotel, you really couldn't ask for a more conveinant spot inside the old city walls. It was close to everything...we were very pleased with our stay.

| We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clarendon. Excellent location in the heart of the Old City. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant on site but we did not eat there. Bar with live jazz a nice extra.

| I would definitely stay here again. Perfect location for exploring the old city...you won't need your car until you leave. Jazz nightly in the bar downstairs. Friendly, helpful staff.

| Perfect location, literally steps from everything, and the best jazz bar in Quebec. Our tour guide said it also has the oldest restaurant in North America. Also, it is not too big . . . so you get big hotel service with a more homey atmosphere.

| We stayed 3 nights in July '06, and during a heat wave. The room climate control was perfect. We were told upon chieck-in that we would have an interior room, but in fact our queen room 221 overlooked the street and city hall. It was quite quiet, since there had been double-mounted windows. We found the room and bathroom very clean, a decent-sized closet and multiple hangers, as well as several drawers into which one could unpack. We didn't eat or drink in the hotel's facility, but there was live music nightly, it seemed.

| The Clarendon is touted as Quebec City's oldest hotel, but all amenities are current. They have two computers to check Internet (free). I was delighted to find it located very close to the Chateau and the funicular. Our room was very good; the bar specialized in jazz every night. They had a discount for the buffet breakfast, but we only overheard about it, and I think you had to commit to it for every morning of your stay. I would stay there again. It's across from a quiet church and the City Hall.
