| Best thing about this place is it's old style character. This is NOT a place of luxury and/or room service. More of an overnight stop-over with lot's of nostalgia.

| This hotel was quaint compared with other hotels of historic significance which I've stayed in Chicago and San Francisco. For the price, the room was comfortable and the hallways and lobby were impressively decorated. The staff was helpful and friendly -- although the street it sits on didn't seem the friendliest with seedy bars along the street. It's a great walkable distance to the Pearl District and the rest of downtown.

| The hotel was the exact location I desired (ie near MAX lightrail, Jake's, Pioneer Square, you name it). The Clyde was decorated old world, quaint. Service was fantastic. However, be warned that the garage is not attached to the hotel from the inside and the doors are not electric. Therefore, anytime you need to get your car in or out, or even just get something from the car, you must ask someone (usually the only person) at the service desk to walk around the block with you to open the gate. This was an inconvenince to me. If you plan to rely solely on the MAX, it would work great. Also, there is no AC. I went in May thinking this wouldn't be an issue, only to find upon arrival that it was nearly 100 degrees and a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, it provided all that I needed to make my stay in P-town fine.

| Older hotel but bathroom well maintained, clean and quiet. Staff helpful and courteous. Business center is small (only one PC - no fax or printer) but has very reliable high-speed Internet access, open 24x7, and free. My room had no grounded electrical outlets (3-prong) but available in Business Center.

| Loved the ambiance of this hotel; it's like stepping back in time. Convenient location and we were able to find street parking instead of parking at the hotel, which is expensive. The room would be more comfortable with shelving installed over the sink to hold our toiletries. Also, I thought the so-called continental breakfast was lame, with only cheerios, apples, bananas, and a few paper-thin slices of pound cake.

| The hotel reminded me of some of the British b&b's we've stayed in. It has an old world feel with lots of turn of the century woodwork everywhere and clawfoot tubs in the bathrooms. The furniture is a bit older too. Everything is clean and neat, even if a bit faded, the hotel staff were very helpful, and the location couldn't be better - 1 block from Powell's books!

| This hotel isn't for you if you are looking for the "chain" experience. It was built a hundered years ago and is missing some of the things you expect from the chains. However, it is a really interesting place in a great location. If you are tired of the same old thing and don't mind a smaller room and oddities of a 100 year old hotel, this is a great choice. If you want new carpets, fresh paint and 100 cable channels you won't be happy here.

| I was so impressed with the maintenance of this hotel. I am a big fan of early 20th century architecture and this hotel has is a perfect example of it. It was tastefully decorated, quiet and in a prime location. The staff was pleasant and very accomodating. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a romantic weekend away or just wants to see a little of Portland history.

| Inexpensive, good service, and charming, vintage (but still very clean) rooms. It doesn't get better than the super deep claw footed bath tubs!
