At check-in, the hotel had us booked for two small beds instead of a king. Showing my Expedia receipt, the front desk gal asked, "Why is our information different from yours?" I resisted saying, "Because someone here made a mistake." We got the last room with a king bed; the uninspiring view from the second floor was onto gravel roof. Although the lobby is posh with koi fish, our room showed extreme wear, with many stains on the carpet, and yellow grout in the shower. Add a soccer tournament with two families with young children next door, shouting and banging morning and night. The walls were thin and we could hear their conversations. When we checked out, I requested (and got, with no trouble) a "nuisance credit" from the manager for 3 of our 5 nights. The free breakfast was good food, but the line of folks waiting for cooked-to-order eggs snaked around the other food islands and blocked kitchen access. Diners had to dodge each other and the waitstaff. The first morning we were there, I could not believe the pandamonium and long wait, just to get my food and sit down. Getting to breakfast was also a problem since this large hotel has no stairs that lead down to the lobby. All stairs exit outside, as a fire precaution. With 3 elevators - 2 at the front desk and 1 in the back, above the dining room - and 5 floors of rooms, we stopped using the back elevator. We would have gladly taken stairs to the lobby. I will say the service staff was eager to please and genuinely helpful.

The room and service was perfect. The food delivered to my room from "The Ring" was execelent. And the cooked to order breakfast was a feast. I appreciated the separation of space in the room.

The hotel was great for our family of three, it was nice to have some separate space in the suite. We had complimentary wine one evening and a sit down breakfast buffet on Sat. morning. Great!

This hotel is a superb value with a friendly and attentive staff and virtually all the amenities one could want. I rate it overall excellent and would highly recommend it to anyone who will be traveling to the Napa/Sonoma Valley area.
