Features
What to expect: Le Richelieu caters to families and romantic travelers with its quiet, private rooms. It's in the heart of the French Quarter, but away from the fray. The location, on a residential street 1 block from a historic convent, feels like a step back in time. The hotel's period furnishings make it a distinctly New Orleans experience. Amenity highlights: The complimentary parking is unusual for New Orleans hotels. There are also an outdoor pool and patio, and local calls are free. The rooms are individually decorated, many featuring balconies or views of the courtyard and pool. Modest conference rooms hold up to 12 people. Insider tip: The hotel is perfect for families, because it's away from the bustle of Bourbon Street. There's lots to do within walking distance, including the historic Ursuline Convent, built in 1750, and the old U.S. Mint.

| This hotel is in a very quiet corner of the French Quarter. It reminded me of a smaller European hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We were able to get good directions to everywhere we wanted to go and great suggestions on places to eat. They even were able to print out a document that we needed off our laptop. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Plus there is free parking - a real rare item in the French Quarter.

| Stayed at Le Richelieu the first weekend of August 2006; same weekend as the Satchmo Festival. Hotel staff is exceptional, by far the best we experienced in three trips this summer. Hotel is generally well maintained and clean for an historic building. At the very far end of the French Quarter, which has pros and cons. Quiet and very convenient to the French Market, but a distance to many other French Quarter attractions. Recently installed wireless internet access which was convenient. OVerall, I'd stay there again.

| I was a bit skeptical about a trip to New Orleans post Katrina... but my recent stay at Le Richelieu was amazing. Although the city suffered greatly from the storm, the French Quarter area is alive and vibrant and full of great places to eat and drink and site see. There are great sites to see. There are variety of tours available and many things to do in the downtown area as well. I would recommend a trip to the cresent city -- and Le Richelieu is a good place to stay.

| I thought that this was a nice place to stay overall. All things considered, they have done an outstanding job in restoring the old building to service, after the hurricane and flood. The one thing that I was not happy about was there was an on-site resturant that was always busy but it seemed that it did not make the guests of the hotel feel welcomed. No brunch special, no dinner special and no in-room menu for room service.

| A Family reniunon poll side couldn't have found a better setting. We were able to use the courtyard and pool at will. The Staff was excellent and the beds were incredibly comfortable. This isn't the newest hotel it has some old charm but everyrhting is mantained beautifully. The perfect relaxing setting pior to hitting Bourbon Street just blocks away. We highly recommend New Orleans and Le Richelieu.

| This hotel at the end of the French Quarter is a long-standing tradition for me, dating back to 1975. It suffered some damage from Hurricane Katrina, so not all rooms have been reopened. The rooms are not huge, but they have charm and character, and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. If you like staying in the Quarter, this is a must.

| The hotel was nice. Customer service was great! There was a problem with the plumbing one day, but I guess Katrina had a big influence on that. They shut the water for half an hour. The hotel had just opened earlier in the week. Overall it was a good experience there. The location was great! I like that it wasn't on Bourbon St., but close enough to walk there. It is two blocks from the French Market.

| Arrived at this hotel on Thursday for what was supposed to be an 11-day stay. The hotel is quaint, clean and comfortable, located in a quiet corner of the French Quarter. The staff was courteous, helpful and pleasant. We had problems with a toilet the first day, it was fixed within 15 minutes from the call to the front desk. Unfortunately we had to drive away two days later because Katrina was on her way, thank God we did. We were immediately reimbursed by Expedia for the unused part of our stay. We can't wait to return this year, plan to stay at the same hotel and make the arrangements through Expedia.
