Features
What to expect: Opened in 2002, the resort offers contemporary condominium units designed for relaxed living across the street from the ocean and away from the bustle of downtown. Families and groups of adults come here for sun, rest, and the convenience of cooking at home.

Amenity highlights: Arrayed along the resort's 400-yard front are gardens, expansive lawns, sundecks, and a large, heated, freeform infinity pool. Adjacent to the pool, a spa offers ocean-view soaking for 16. Nearby, an open-air structure called Beatles Hut commemorates the occasion when rock 'n roll's British foursome stayed in a cottage once occupying the site. The hut contains pool and Ping-Pong tables, video games, a food prep sink and counter, and dining tables. Spaced on a sand area in front, three picnic tables, and three large barbecue grills provide outdoor-dining opportunities. (At guests' request, the resort's staff lights charcoal in a grill so it will be at cooking temperature when guests wish.)

Insider tip: The Bone Island Shuttle circulates around the 4-mile-long, 2-mile-wide island, taking visitors to such attractions as Smathers Beach (the largest in Key West), the Southernmost Point U.S.A. monument, Mallory Square (site of the famed Sunset Celebration), the Historic Seaport, and Duval Street's shopping, dining, and nightlife. The shuttle runs all day, stopping at the hotel every 30 minutes. Adults buy all-day, three-day, or five-day passes. Children 12 and under ride free.

The resort does not have its own restaurant, but there are several dining options within the surrounding area.

Benihana

We found the Hyatt Windward Pointe to be a very clean and comfortable hotel, with easy access to Key West International Airport. The staff was friendly and courteous, although they did not acknowledge my request for an oceanview room when I contacted the hotel directly. Nonetheless, the room had a great view of the Atlantic Ocean. We frequently used the Windward Pointe's pool which the staff kept immaculately clean and the water was a very, very pleasnt temperature. Two things that potential guests at the Hyatt Windward Pointe should know are (1)there is no full-service restaurant on the premises. There is a general store/bar on the premises that has a limited menu (hamburgers, hot dogs, bagels, cereals, etc). (2) The Hyatt Windward Pointe is on the Southeast side of the island, which means that the Key West attractions are 15 minutes away by car or bus. Having said all of this, I found the Hyatt Windward Pointe to be a very pleasant resort hotel and would recommend it.

The room was gorgeous and featured all the comforts of home. It was very spacious and well decorated and stocked. The grounds were very well maintained and watching the egrets in the courtyard every day was great. The pool area was also fabulous and it was great to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean. It was a couple of miles from the Key West night life which was nice when you just want to sit around the pool and relax. All in all it was a great experience and I would definitely go back.

This hotel is awesome, if I were to go back to the Keys I would definatly stay there again hands down. It was one of the nicest around, very clean and spacious. They also had transportation to take you to where you needed to go. There caddy shack was hot but had AWESOME food and frozen drinks! I don't know what else to say besides this place was awesome, you couldn't have asked for a better stay!

We had a great time in Key West. The hotel was one of the nicest that we saw on the island. The rooms were spacious and clean. The only thing I didn't like was the noise from the airport but it wasn't that bad. We would definitely go back again.

The Windward Pointe is beautiful! We have been coming back for years. The only negative thing would be that the pool area is really noisy. The hotel has their stereo playing there are planes constantly coming to and from the airport (which is right next door) scooters and cars are buzzing by the road by the hotel and there are loud children in the pool. But, if you can get past that, the resort itself is very nice and classy.

My husband and I split a 2 BR condo at this hotel and it was perfect. The condo had granite countertops, full kitchen, lots of tile, washer/dryer, huge patio overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom and cozy furniture. The beds were a little firm for my taste but I slept and that is what matters. They don't have much in the way of food except a cute little shack next to the pool. Don't take shack the wrong way - that is what it is called but the service and food are excellent. The price is right especially during happy hour. And again the service keeps you coming back. The Island is only 4 miles long and Duval street is about 3 miles away. I found that to be perfect because during the day we could relax next to the pool overlooking the ocean, drink a couple of beers and just chill before the sunset. Every night we took a cab and it was $4 per person from our hotel to Duval St (where the bars/entertainment/shopping is).

Hotel was beautiful away from craziness of downtown but still a quick cab away. Cabs are $25.00 no matter where you go on the island..shuttle advertised is no longer in service and made travel expensive. Pool and Poolside bar were great! Huge porches and nicely decorated rooms. Hotel made our experience perfect. Front desk service was very unfriendly as with most service in KeyWest. Would definetly stay again!

Very nice and spacious hotel. However no restaurants near the hotel at present time and check out time is 10:00 a.m. too early for me.

We enjoyed our stay very much, but were surprised to find out the the day we arrived, the popular Shuttle Bus was no longer in service to take us around the island. This could put a damper on your transportation plans. You must use a cab ($$) to get anywhere downtown, since this hotel is on the opposite side of most of the activities. The Shuttle provided a cheap and convenient way to get around day or night, but, as I said, it is no longer running.. Just something to keep in mind. Otherwise, everything about the Hyatt was amazing. No complaints at all.
