| This place is a dump! Do not stay here unless your alternative is to sleep on the street for the night.

| We left a dead spider on the desk in the morning and when we came back it was still there. We tried to see how long it would take the maid to clean it up ... 3 additional days! The toilet was also never cleaned. The room had this odor that was disgusting. Adjacent to the hotel is a Subway owned by the same family. We ate there once because I didn't think it was possible to mess up a sandwich. We never went back because the sandwiches were sparse and the meat might have been spoiled. The only reason we stayed here was because of proximity to our event and we went on a busy weekend so this was the only place still vacant. If you have any sense of smell, don't stay here!

| This is the worst place I have ever paid to sleep in. In the Marines, I slept on the ground during a sandstorm and had an engine cover fall on my head, and in Korea I slept in a freezing mud puddle - so my standards aren't very high. In March 2006 I stayed at a place where two cockroaches crawled out of the shower drain and onto my foot - and I would rather stay there again than at this place. It's that bad. I should have read the reviews of this place before I booked it. Having read them when I got there, I was prepared for a moldy smell. But the moldy smell was overwhelmed by the cigarette smell in this non-smoking room. I had to run the A/C every night just to be able to breathe. Housekeeping also failed to provide any shampoo one day, and I had to wash my hair with that cheap bar soap. Give the Travelodge Silver Spring a miss.

| This is the least expensive hotel in the area, and with good reason. It is extremely dated in style, the room was in great need of painting. Inadequate parking. Area was questionable as to safety. I will say that linens were very clean. I cannot recommend this motel to anyone, and have no interest in staying again. I planned my evening so that I was in the room for the shortest time neccessary. I should have paid closer attention to Expedia's 1 1/2 star rating, and paid the extra to stay in a quality hotel, as there were several not far away. I guess the old adage 'You get what you pay for' applies here.
