Hopefully, the hotel boom does not develop to the point of Acapulco or Cancun as the nature is too beautiful to be destroyed

We wanted to "get away from it all" and this was certainly the place to do it! The resort was comfortable, clean, quiet, and great activities!! The resort food was good, but after eight days, we did get a little tired of it as expected, but you could always just eat a burger and fries. The 2 fine dining restaurants were excellent and the nightly evening shows were fantastic! Very professional performance - you would expect to pay extra for these shows in Hawaii, but at the Barcelo, they're free! The resort is fairly compact so you don't have far to go when traveling between the pool and room. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly - no sales pushes of any kind. We traveled in July (off season) - (peak season is November thru April) - great time to go. It's hot, but it feels like the norm - we're from South Texas so we didn't mind. We hired a private boat for the Bahia tour (guys from the beach) and used Xpert (booked inside the resort) for our excursions to the coffee plantation, waterfall tour, and river rafting - extremely knowledgable and professional guide - we had a fantastic time! We always felt safe and well taken care of. FYI - the beach at the resort has very rough water (undertow) - safer to let the kids play in the pool or hangout at the calm beaches such as Playa Entrega. One other tiny negative - lots of bees and don't eat outdoors at the resort! Too many grackles! Overall, we had a great time at the Barcelo and in Huatulco! Can't wait to go back!

I spent 12 beautiful days in Huatulco and loved it! Barcelo hotel has great service and I recommend it to families, and others. The food at EL Agave restaurant is excellent, you couldn't get better service. The hotel is very clean and the entertainment is very good. Huatulco is a beautiful place with great people. I will go back soon.

The food was amazing, the staff was very helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that the town of La Crucecita is five kilometers away and that is the location of the nearest ATM.

This was a beautiful place to stay, and as much as I like to choose other hotels for a change, I would stay at this resort again ASAP!
