The House Amenities
An expansive mahogany deck extends through the building from an entrance arch, past a garden courtyard, through an open-air covered area, on a lawn leading to the beach, and around the pool. The deck's covered area (the equivalent of a regular hotel's lobby, although the resort does not employ the words "hotel" and "lobby") features two low, 8-by-14-foot mahogany tables surrounded by overstuffed seating covered in soft, white canvas. Board games await on the tables, ceiling fans turn gently, and background music plays softly. Waterfall sounds enter from the garden courtyard. Personal Ambassadors serve drinks from a nearly invisible bar. A mahogany table holds complimentary coffee, tea, and pastries. Wooden breakfast/lunch tables line a wall graced by dark, abstract paintings. Tiny lights embedded in the deck, oil torches lining the garden courtyard and approach to the beach, and candles arranged in the covered area combine to bathe the resort in a romantic glow after dark. An air-conditioned Internet and game room includes a computer providing complimentary high-speed Internet access. Massage is available in guest suites or in a cabana on the beach. An open-air library area is furnished with reading chairs.

| My husband and I recently spent 6 days at The House and we were very happy with our choice. Upon arrival we were met at our car by an Ambassador. She gave us a tour of the property and we were offered a wonderfully refreshing drink. There was no formal check-in procedure, she simply gave us our keys and sent us to our room. We had a fantastic view over the pool area that overlooked the beautiful sea. Our balcony was extremely accomodating and large, as well as the double vanity bathroom. We were slightly disapointed with the condition of the furniture in the room. A little dated and scratched. The TV size was small, but we really didn't care, I think we turned it on just a handful of times while we were there. Once you see the view, you'll understand why! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the air conditioner worked fabulously for a husband that can never be too cold! What was out of this world was the service! You guys are awesome. Bringing cold water, extra towels, ice cream, while lounging out on the beach. It really feels as if they want you to make the most out of your trip, giving lots of advice about local restaurants and shopping. The grounds were stunning and we were so happy to stay at the House, especially after seeing the other properties on the beach! Lastly, the breakfast buffet every morning was excellent. Overall a spectacular trip!

| This wonderful hotel is in a class of its own - small, cozy and with well trained helpful staff and management. The "ambassadors" assigned to each guest really know Barbados and are as helpful or available as required. The property could use some minor sprucing up, but that is a very minor point when compared to the overall experience.
