What to expect: St. Louis Union Station, once the country's grandest train station, is now an 11-acre shopping and entertainment complex. The elegantly restored hotel is part of the historic renovation of this 19th-century structure, with vaulted barrel ceilings, Tiffany stained-glass windows, and the spacious Grand Hall lobby and cocktail lounge. Staff members provide a high level of service, appropriate to such a sumptuous atmosphere. Amenity highlights: The outdoor pool is open seasonally, and the fitness center includes free weights, stair climbers, treadmills, and saunas. A self-service business center on the lobby level offers a photocopier, fax, laser printer, and PC. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available in all public areas. Airport transportation and child care are available. Guests can discover the secret of the "Whispering Arch," located on the main entrance staircase of the Grand Hall. Insider tip: Union Station has a Hard Rock Cafe, Landry's Seafood House, gift and clothing shops, and home-team sports souvenir shops. During summer months, Union Station maintains an active outdoor music concert schedule.
Station Grille - An award-winning fine-dining destination for both locals and visitors, offering Mediterranean-inspired entrées, along with steaks and chicken prepared on the grill. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Aldo's Pizzeria and Grocery Store - Pizzas, salads, soft drinks, espresso drinks, beer, and wine. The pizzeria is open for lunch and dinner daily. The grocery store is open from early morning to late night daily.

| This is a great hotel--It is one part of the national Historic Hotel Register. The rooms are beautiful decorated, old world decor, clean & spacious. It is part of Union Station which offers shopping & dining. It is down the street from Bush stadium. Service and atmosphere is superb. Second time we stayed there on an overnight stay just as a getaway--very romantic.

| We just stayed at the Hyatt for a weekend and, overall, it is a very good hotel. Just a couple issues bothered us a little. First, the parking situation is a little odd; since this hotel is inside Union Station, if you self park you have to walk through the Mall to get to the parking lot. It's quite a walk and it gets old after a while. The alternative is to pay the $20/day for the vallet. The only other problem was that the pillows smelled a little. Overall, the hotel is good, specially for the central location.

| Not having been to St. Louis before, I thought that the location of the Hyatt Regency at Union Station would be perfect for walking to a Cardinals game at Busch Stadium, to the Gateway Arch, and to dining downtown. The MetroLink transportation system conveniently runs from the airport and stops at Union Station. If you are packing light, taking the MetroLink instead of a taxi or shuttle will save money. The MetroLink also makes it easy to get from the hotel to the St. Louis Zoo at Forest Park and to the Anheiser-Busch Brewery. Union Station is a mix of casual eateries and novelty shops. There is no serious shopping available. The service at the Hyatt Regency was terrible, especially for a deluxe hotel. Each day of a 4-day stay, housekeeping did not attend to our room until after 4:30 pm. The hallways were constantly cluttered with housekeeping carts. The hotel restaurants were grossly overpriced, even by hotel standards, and there were few alternatives for a decent breakfast in the immediate vicinity. Calling the Front Desk for assistance was an exercise in futility. I will never stay at this hotel again while in St. Louis!

| Expected more from a Hyatt Regency. The old Union Station is architecturally beautiful, but the hotel configuration and the stores that have been incorporated into the station are not consistent with the caliber of a Hyatt Regency. At the time the hotel was waiting for comforters and dust ruffles so the room look rather generic. The beds and sheets themselves were comfortable though. Accomodations should have been made to compensate for this.

| Located within Union Station, which is an indoor mall with several restaurants within walking distance. Also located near the Metro which will take you to the Arch and other destinations. The room was comfortable and well maintained.

| The Union Station it self is worth the visit, however the hotel is a unattractive add on to the historic building. Our room was not cleaned after our first night and we were not furnished with clean bathroom towels and wash clothes. When we talked to the desk we were informed that we had to make a request to get fresh towels? My wife is handicaped and getting around in the hotel was difficult because of long trips to the elevator and stairways.

| The location could not be more perfect. We were able to board the MetroLink to get to Busch Stadium. This was most convinent. We used the eating places inside of union station before enjoying the city attractions. Overall, you could not ask for more under one roof. Thanks for the great hospitality.

| Being next to the Metra station makes it extremely convenient to get around from the Arch to the Zoo. The shopping complex inside the hotel and Union Station is awesome for the woman in the family and plenty of great places to eat from burgers to seafood. Hotel was average for being a 4 star but nice with excellent beds and appointments. No fridge or safe in room.

| Clever concept to have made a hotel out of a historic train station. Made a great first impression of the city. Accomodations were very good, what with those super comfy beds and multiple fluffy pillows. Restaurants and shops were just a couple of floors below us. And a good healthy walk to the Gateway Arch.
