| The Americinn Deadwood is clean, and comfortable. It may not have as much history as most of the town, but it provides all the requisite amenities that are to be expected in a modern hotel room. It is not right on the strip, but most people would not find the walk into town difficult. Plus the trolley stops right outside the hotel and it only costs 50 cents/ride.

| When I checked in I was told that my reservation was for a smoking room. I said I needed non-smoking. There was no reference to smoking or non-smoking in my confirmation. The desk clerk was not at all interested in helping me out - she said she had no non-smoking rooms and I would have to contact Expedia to resolve the issue. Housekeeping did a halfway decent job of removing the smoke odor after a day, however the damage had already been done. In a service industry I expect the staff to be more empathetic and interested in providing good service.

| We enjoyed staying at the hotel. But the restaurant service was not very good. Had a 15 minute wait until we were even noticed by the wait staff. They walked near our table several times and did not even notice we were there. Other than that we had an enjoyable stay.

| We have stayed at several different places in Deadwood and these are the nicest rooms in town. The hotel is not right downtown but you can ride the trolly. Nice casino, nice steam room, smaller pool but O.K.
