Features
What to expect: Opened in 2002, this elegant hotel greets guests in a vast, cream-colored lobby with vaulted ceilings, wrought-iron light fixtures, clustered seating areas, and marble floors. Although it feels like an immaculate vacation resort, it attracts business and convention travelers, too. Amenity highlights: The third-floor rooftop pool area has a swimming pool and a spa, with a view of rowdy Bourbon Street. Just off the hotel lobby is a bar and restaurant run by one of New Orleans' best-known food families, the Brennans. Insider tip: The hotel is located at the edge of the French Quarter, with easy access to Bourbon Street nightlife (right outside the door), upscale shopping at the Canal Street Plaza (5 blocks away), and Harrah's Casino (also 5 blocks away).
Dickie Brennan's Bourbon House - The namesake of one of New Orleans' best-known restaurant families, Dickie Brennan's is lit by faux gas lamps and serves Louisiana cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Specialties include grilled Gulf fish and po-boy sandwiches, and selections from the oyster bar. Bourbon House Lobby Bar - This narrow, softly lit bar serves snacks and a full selection of drinks, including a signature bourbon punch.

| Unfortunately, the ice machine on our floor was broken the entire time we were in New Orleans. Thus, we are unable to give an excellent rating all around.....

| The staff at the Astor Crowne Plaza-French Quarter Hotel were not the best. When I checked in, they made an imprint of my credit card for incidentals. The next night I couldn't order a movie in the room. I was told I needed to leave an imprint of my credit card for the movie to run. I told them I had already done this at check-in, but they couldn't find it anywhere. I had to go downstairs and give them my credit card again. The next morning I called for a wake up call at 8:00 a.m. At 8:23 a.m. someone called with the wake up call. Two minutes later, another person called to ask if our wake up call was supposed to be at 8:00 or 9:00. I said it was supposed to have been at 8:00, but it was late. At 9:20 we got another wake up call. I notified the manager that our wake up call was not on time and he offered me two breakfast coupons. I told him that there was a display in the lobby that states if your wake up call is not within 5 minutes of when you requested it, that your night's stay is free. He said he didn't know anything about that offer and I had to show it to him. I was expecting them to make good on their offer, but I was told since we booked through expedia, we could not get a free night stay. Instead, we got a certificate for a free night on our next visit. Like I'm going to stay there again! The hotel itself was beautiful, but the staff and management was disappointing considering the price you pay for a room.
