Rooms are clean and comfortable. My biggest gripe is all they have is valet parking. Self-parking is an open parking lot behind the hotel.

Long line to check in and the air conditioning was out. We got a smoking room even though we requested non. The room was clean enough, the carpet was really stained and didn't look clean at all. Good if there's nothing else available.

Nice room but housekeeping services were poor, no soap or toletries in room, chairs missing from room with no response after 3 calls to management. Poor services will continue to keep the stars away from the Phoenix. Overly greasy buffet items lead to dining at other hotels.

The parking lot for the hotel is across the street in what looks like a deserted lot. The front desk staff looked at me like I was an idiot for trying to check in an hour early. The first room we were assigned was still occupied. The room we ended up in (after yet another visit with the grumpy front desk person) was acceptable: clean with only the standard wear and tear for an older hotel.

Beds were uncomfortable, pillows were lousy and the noise was totally ridiculous! Train horns blow right outside the hotel and sound like they are coming right thru your room and we were on the 20 floor. Walls are thin we had to keep the T.V. on to drown out our neighbors voices. I wouldn't stay there again even if it was FREE!

The rooms were generally clean, though there were exposed pipes in our rooms, and the vinyl flooring was peeling back from neglect. Sheets and towels were clean, but that was about the only bonus. Parking was a joke - we took our car to valet, and it literally sat in the same place we left it for 6 hours, in the dead of night... I felt fortunate it wasn't broken into. Next time we took it back to have it parked, they told us they we full, and it took us 30 minutes to find a stop on the street... I was very unimpressed.

I had to book a last minute trip to Reno, Nevada, as my father became extremely ill. I was able to hook the flight ticket with a hotel with expedia. I informed the Golden Phoenix I would be late checking in and explained my circumstances. The Hotel, the Staff, and all involved were fantastic. Everything I needed from the hotel was waiting and they always asked if there was more they could do. I can only imagine how much fun this would have been if this was a pleasure trip. Thank you Expedia, and G.P.!!!!

The room was very nice, however an iron in the room would of been a plus. A little patch of grass somewhere for our pet would of made things easier for him. The train horns in the middle of the night made sleeping a bit tough, however it appears the city is working on that problem and creating a train pathway so the train don't have to blow the horn to warn cars and pedestrians of the approaching train. All in all we would go back to this hotel and stay.

Comfortable room setup but could be cleaner. Elevators overburdened. Staff friendly but current parking awful. Everyone checking out Sunday had a huge wait for valet parking to get their car.
