The view of NY City is wonderful from this hotel, and it is an easy ride via the subway into the city. I found the hotel staff to be too officious and unfriendly. The concierge was friendly, but the front desk people were not. When we called to get driving directions, the front desk said they could not help with directions and then hung up on us!

For those of us who can do without the noise and craziness of Manhattan, the Hyatt on the Hudson provides a classy, clean and comfortable option. I am a native New Yorker and I love the city, but, whenever I go back now I stay at the Hyatt so as to maximize my dollar and my comfort. The staff (fromt the front desk to the valet) are courteous and quite helpful. This area is relatively new and the hotel's decor and ambiance reflect this. If you want to stay in a 5' X 7' in Midtown, go ahead. But if you know your way around the NY/NJ area and want comfort with style, stay at the Hyatt on the Hudson.

I selected this Hyatt based on the Hyatt reputation. The weekend was our 22 wedding anniversary and I informed the hotel of this when I made the reservations. Nothing was mentioned upon our arrival or in the room. The room ammenities were less than what we have experienced in less expencive hotels. There were no snacks or vending machines, only coffee in the rooms and soda machines. The room was clean, but we could not get the room cooled down at all. I set the temperature on 60 and the fan on HIGH. In the morning, the room temperature was a toasty 76 degress. We were not impressed at all, in fact it was kind of dissapointing. I will not sty there again. I probably won't look at Hyatt Hotels when traveling because of our stay at this one.

Hotel staff was very polite. Only bad thing with the hotel is that not everyone can get a window view of NYC.

The hotel to stay in when you arrive to or leave from Newark Airport and have a couple of days to spend in New York City. Good service, nice rooms, a high quality restaurant and an excellent wiev of Manhattan. Convenient transportation by the PATH right into the centre of the City, too.
