    Recreation
At the resort's front, a blunt promontory separates two beaches. One is a shallow 1.5-km (1-mi) strip washed by the Caribbean Sea to the resort's seawall, above which are cushioned lounge chairs under thatched shades and seagrape trees. The other is a deeper, 200-m (219-yd) stretch furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas that also includes an area with hammocks and cushioned lounge chairs. Atop the promontory is a 9-by-3.75-m (29-by-12-ft) pool with a sea view from a 9.25-m (30-ft) bluff.

Use of snorkeling gear, floats, pedal boats, and kayaks is complimentary, as is an introductory water-skiing lesson and use of the resort's lighted, artificial-grass tennis court, which has a basketball hoop. Motorized water sports (surcharges) such as water skiing, wakeboarding, banana boating, and tubing can be arranged at the resort. Snorkeling excursions to a rocky island just off shore and glass-bottom-boat trips are also available for surcharges.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the resort; fees may apply.

    Features
What to expect: Situated between a steep green hill and the northwest coast's Grand Case Bay, the bougainvillea-draped condo resort, which rents vacation units in owners' absences, appeals to adults seeking walking-distance access to Grand Case's many restaurants and art shops, approximately 300m (328 yds) from the resort.

Amenity highlights: Two beaches lie at the resort's front: one extends 1.5 km (1-mi) along the Caribbean Sea to the resort's seawall; the other is a 200-m (219-yd) stretch furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas that also includes an area with hammocks and cushioned lounge chairs. Atop a bluff that's part of a promontory separating the beaches is a 9-by-3.75-m (29-by-12-ft) pool. Use of snorkeling gear, floats, pedal boats, and kayaks is complimentary.

Insider tip: Orient Beach (Baie Orientale) on the Atlantic Ocean 5.5 km (3.5 mi) east of the resort offers water sports, dining, and a nude-sunbathing section. It also includes a little-noticed open-air massage cabana fronting Waikiki Beach Bar & Restaurant just north of the beach's mid-point.

A complimentary Continental breakfast is provided each morning in Sunset Café, and a complimentary cocktail party is held on Monday evenings.

Sunset Café - Open-air restaurant set above sea, with view of Anguilla. Seating on wood-floor veranda shaded by striped awning. American-style breakfast. Lunch specials such as vol au vent with shrimp and asparagus, marinated tuna salad, fillet of beef in mustard sauce. Also, appetizers, salads, pasta, sandwiches, seafood, ribs, steaks. Dinner appetizers such as snails in Roquefort sauce, foie gras sautéed with cherries, crab baked in shell, lobster ravioli. Main courses of seafood, beef, duck, chicken prepared with French West Indian accents.

From the bottle of wine at check-in, to the carribbean music on the stereo when we entered our room, our first impression that this was a special place remained throughout our stay. Immaculate grounds, friendly and efficient staff, tremendous sunset views...I highly recommend Grand Case Beach Club to any traveler.

This hotel was great! You could walk to the best restaurants on the island. Rent a car at the hotel and make sure you see the entire island. I would stay at the Grand Case Beach Club the next time I visit the island. Best location for food and their restaurant was very good as well. Also they cleaned the rooms very well but they could update their rooms a bit. We loved it.

I attended a wedding and was very pleased with the hotel choice. The room were clean and having the kitchen was a added plus. The beach was wonderful and only a few steps from our door. We loved the continental breakfast with the fresh french bread and chocolate pastry it was so good!We also ate lunch several times and recommend the spicy chicken sandwich. The staff was friendly and helpful. Location of hotel is remote but if what you want is r & r you will get it there. I liked it so much I am planning another trip there next year.

Had friends in many room categories and found all the rooms to be spacious with adequate kitchen facilities. Saw several families with small well behaved children. All the staff I met were friendly, helpful and efficient.

We stayed at Grand Case Beach Club for a week in late June 2006 and got more than we expected. We had a studio/ocean front room. It was nothing fancy but had a wonderful view and a small kitchen. The staff at GCBC is more than helpful! There is good snorkeling right there at the hotel as well as near Creole Rock...a short boat ride away. The continental breakfast is nothing special, but we ordered breakfast twice and it was great! There is a problem with flies at the Sunset Cafe, where breakfast is served. Unfortunately, flies spoiled our breakfast experience there. The two beaches are small but they are wonderful and we saw lots of starfish. We can see why there were so many repeat visitors, my husband and I made a pact to return there as soon as possible! The french side of the island is very European and lived up to its reputation as "the friendly island".

We checked in to a "garden view" studio apartment. It was furnished with a king size bed, kitchenette with stove and microwave, complimentary bottle of white wine, excellent cable tv, stereo with local CD's, etc. We had brought an adapter/transformer for the 220 current (so that we could use a "white noise" rainsounds system); it did not work with their plug-in system. However, the overhead fan and the good sound-proofing made a noisemaker unnecessary. Walking in to Grand Case for dinner or lunch was an easy, 5 minute stroll. The beach was less than a one minute walk from our room. Watersports (non-motorized) are included in the rental of a room, and include a tri-cat sailboat that was a blast, kayaks, pedalboats, and good quality snorkeling equipment. Beach chairs and umbrellas are also free. Staff were always pleasant. Beach towels and the daily paper are free, as is advice on where to eat (make sure to have the creme brulee at California and the cheap eats at Talk of the Town). A continental breakfast at the Sunset Cafe is also free every morning - delicious french bread, croissants, coffee, and orange juice. St. Martin is often described as expensive - we have always managed to have a great time there on what most people would consider a low-budget vacation. The GCBC was perfect for us, and we believe would be great for almost anyone looking for a relaxed time away from home on a beautiful beach.
