Small south Maui condo resort facing ocean

Amenities | Recreation | Features | Reviews

Leinaala Amenities
Leinaala's pool and barbecue grill, along with public tennis courts in the county park running in front of the resort, comprise the outside amenities. There's also a laundry facility, and free parking is available on the street.

Recreation
In the county park in front of Leinaala, there are four tennis courts and volleyball nets. In South and West Maui, 17 golf courses, including four resort courses and one public course, lie within 7 miles of Leinaala. Other recreational activities listed below are available in South Maui.

Features
What to expect: Leinaala's 24 guest units are located in a narrow, four-story building nearly hidden by neighboring condominiums. The resort faces the Pacific, but is set back 100 yards from the ocean, fronting a nearly unused county park consisting of lawns, widely spaced coconut palms, flowering gardens, and recreational facilities such as tennis courts and volleyball nets. Each unit includes a sunset-friendly lanai (patio or balcony) looking directly toward the ocean and also offering views of the West Maui Mountains looming to the north.

Amenity highlights: So unobtrusive is the Leinaala, strollers in the park might miss its presence except for the sight of the resort's fenced-off pool, sundeck, and barbecue-grill area. That's just the restful privacy Leinaala guests desire.

Insider tip: Cook-at-home guests can travel 1.5 miles north three times a week to where the Farmers Market of Maui sells locally grown produce—along with local cheeses, freshly baked banana bread, and other treats—at a shaded roadside stand.

Numerous dining opportunities exist along South Maui's Sun Coast. Restaurants, many in shopping centers, can be found in Kihei Town, all along the oceanside street on which Leinaala is located.

We stayed there for one week and found the condo quite cozy and relaxing. The condo was fully furnished and what we loved the most was the lanai! The people there were friendly and the manager was quite helpful. We would definitely come back !

We stayed in condo number 301. It had ALL the amenities of staying in someone's home, with a beautiful view as a bonus. There is a park, a small pool, and some tennis courts just downstairs.

The view from the Lani was perfect. A "great" place to start the day with a cup of coffee and watch the world come alive or end the day with a cool drink and watch the sun go down. You have to go there to understand what I am saying. The overall suite was remarkable. Fully stocked kitchen made it so easy to prepare meals, also lots of towels and on premise laundry was great for a family of four. The family enjoyed the entertainment center stocked with books, CD's and Movies. The manager and other guest were so friendly it made for a delightful trip. You felt like you were at home.

My husband and I just returned from our Honeymoon. We were absolulely stunned by the double sliding glass door prime oceanfront view with a balcony. There is a public park between the condo and the ocean/mountain view. All units face the ocean and have either a balcony or porch. All have a full kitchen. Our third floor unit was very clean and had lovely bamboo/tropical furniture. They provide extras that make the unit feel like home such as: sandwich bags, laundry detergent, post it notes etc. There is an elevator, pool, and laundry. It isn't a ritzy resort place, but it is clean, very nice and a very homey and cost effective place to stay with a million dollar view as good as or better than the top dollar resorts. The view is to die for. We will definately be back there to stay.

We were very satisfied with our condo. The manager was great! The only drawback was the bed was not the greatest. Other than that we think we made a great choice and would go back again. The sunsets were gorgeous.

We were leery about our stay at Leinaala because the quoted price was reasonable. Nothing else on Maui was reasonable. We were very pleasantly surprised at the location and included amenities. Everything you could ask for was provided including kitchen accessories, beach accessories etc. The ocean is close, the airport is reasonably close, the area is quiet and everything on Maui is easily accessible. Our particular condo was a bit dated, but in excellent condition. For a quiet, inexpensive getaway, you cannot beat Leinaala. We definitely will return.

My husband and I truly enjoyed the Leinaala Condo. We loved the view. It was beautiful. The condo was very spacious for the two of us. The condo would work great for about four guests. The condo was very clean, a tad dated (early 90s) but it had a great island motif. Though the condo was simple, it had just about everything that we needed. We were very impressed with what we got for the price that we paid. Of course we did not receive any special maid services, but we lived with out it. I just wish the Leinaala condo was located in the popular Lahaina area (30 min away). Do not be fooled by the 2 star rating. I give it at least a 3 star rating, and I am very picky about where we stay.
