| Situated on a hill, there is a walk to the beach. Good excerise for the food and drink that is consumed. Great full and complete breakfast. Enough of a meal to last you all day. Great beach. Beach supplies include only two well worn boogie boards. Plenty of lounges, pads and umbrellas though. Plenty of beach to experience all the way down to Club Orient. Must go to Pinel Island by jet ski. Eat at Coco Beach restaurant at least once....right on the waves. Two great restaurants on street leading to the hotel..French and Italian...walking distance. Bartender makes good drinks at pool bar. Hotel entertainment is amatuerish. Never ate other than breakfast in hotel. Front desk was helpful to me. When booking ask for a room away from the hotels main bldg. so the "entertainment" won't keep you awake. If your package includes a free rental car, forget it. You have to take a taxi into Simpson Bay $25 one way to pick it up and drop it off plus cost of insurance for your "free" rental car. Use hotel desk to rent a vehicle.

| Food is OK but you can eat much better and cheaper elsewhere. Breakfast is only thing worth eating, for the rest go elsewhere. The beach (with clothing optional) is excellent. The grounds are nicely landscaped with a lot of paths and steps and some friendly little cats.

| Nice hotel for the price. I enjoyed being on the beach and the pool was great. I relaxed for the first three days at the hotel. There were nice cafes and bars along the beach and plenty of things to do, jet ski, para sail, etc. Very little shopping though, but that was ok for me. I would go back there again.

| There was a very bad odor next to the pool, and often they ran out of towels and matresses, the beach had algea all over, don't know what you were putting your feet into. Better go to breakfast on time or they make faces at you, and you probably will not able to get what you want (yes they ran out of things)no phone in the room, pluses was that it was next to Gran Case and on Orient bay if you have money don't bother going to this place

| My wife and I stayed here for four nights in late March. Hotel was a bit worn, but overall well worth the value. The pool was outstanding. We only ate lunch at Mont Vernon - good but not memorable. We liked being away from the busy part of Orient Bay. But, a short walk down the beach gets you to all the restaurants and activities.

| My husband and I recently stayed at the Mont Vernon in St. Martin for a week. Overall, we were extremely pleased. The rooms are quite large and comfortable. A few amenties were absent (hairdryer, clock-radio), but the TV had several English stations including CNN. The beach and views are absolutely gorgeous. This is a quieter section of Orient Bay (which we loved), but there are lots of beach restuarant/bars in walking distance on the beach. Be advised: there are a number of steps to the pool and beach, so if you have difficulty with stairs, book elsewhere. The rate included a sumptuous buffet breakfast every morning. The pool is very large, and there was even a "water gym" class every morning for those interested. Entertainment was provided every evening ranging from very hokey to quite good. Lots of people there were on a package that included all meals. I would advise against that. The breakfast, as stated was terrific, but the area restaurants are too good to pass up. The location is very convenient to dining and shopping.

| We really enjoyed our stay at Mont Vernon. We had a second floor room with a balcony and a great ocean view. The room was clean and decent size. The refrigerator was only "dorm size" and there was no coffee maker, so those were slight negatives. The breakfast buffet was an excellent way to start the day. The pool area and restaurants/bars were pretty good. The beach was excellent. We rented a car for the week and spent at least half of our days exploring other beaches and places on the island. Parking at the hotel was a pain, but not a big deal. The staff was friendly and helpful.
