| The Airport Grand Hotel & Conference Centre at the Johannesburg International Airport offers the discerning traveller convenient access to the major business centres of Johannesburg and Pretoria. The 151-bedroom hotel is situated a mere five minute drive from the Johannesburg International Airport and provides the East Rand corporate and leisure markets. | This hotel is close to the airport and they provide complimentary shuttles to and from the hotel. The staff is professional, the rooms are small but clean and have a TV. Their food is nothing to write home about, but it definitely not bad either. They also have a substantial buffet spread for breakfast. If you are looking for a cheap hotel close to the airport to spend a night before your ongoing flight, this hotel is perfect.

| The hotel is good for a pre- or post-flight stay. The staff is pleasant and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is NOT at the airport (about six miles away). You need to call the hotel for the shuttle for a pick-up at the airport.

| On the plus side, the staff was helpful and friendly. On the negative side, the hotel is directly under the approach path for Johannesburg International. It is noisy. Also, the hotel has a fair amount of deferred maintenance, painting, carpet cleaning, that sort of thing.

| We thought this hotel was at the airport - it is not. It is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. The hotel arranged for transportation and they were at the airport waiting for us. They even waited while we exchanged money. The hotel charge included a great sit down breakfast with any type of eggs cooked to order. The room was basic and clean. We only stayed for one night to fly out the next day. We would stay there again.

| The Airport Grand offers a clean and pleasant place in a modern, small hotel to spend time while waiting to take a plane at the Johannesburg Airport. While it faces a broad street, there was no noise in my room and there is a small swimming pool and lounging area in back of the hotel that makes you forget where you are. The disadvantages are that without a car you are stuck in the hotel. The only other disadvantage is the shuttle between the airport and the hotel. There is no sign at the airport where to pick it up (I got it in the lot in front of the Sun Airport Hotel, after asking numerous persons and getting different advise). The shuttle runs every half hour (although I do not know whether that is true 24 hours a day). The reception desk led me to believe that I could get the shuttle any time I checked out, but I had to wait 15 minutes for its scheduled run. Johannesburg Airport is very crowded, especially on domestic flights, so allow yourself plenty of time (hours) to get the shuttle and to check in.
