Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa Amenities
Guests can take a resort boat that operates like a shuttle to the nearby casino. Two 18-hole golf courses, four outdoor pools, and luxurious spa and fitness facilities—all set in a wide-open, high-desert landscape—are among the highlights at the 500-room Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa. Specialty spa treatments include the signature Blue Coyote body wrap and dual massages. There's also a beauty salon, barber shop, and business center. The equestrian center offers horseback riding and lessons for riders of all skill levels. In keeping with the resort's name, more than 1,000 wild horses roam the surrounding lands and frequently visit the corrals.

The Koyote Kids club offers (for a fee) a daily schedule of children's activities, including arts and crafts, puppet shows, storytelling, nature walks, and discovery talks about the Sonoran Desert.

Valet parking:
$18 per 24-hour period with in/out privileges.
Self parking:
Self parking is complimentary. Fees do not include tax and are subject to change without prior notification.

The resort's recreation options include horses, swimming, boating, and golf. The resort's two 18-hole, Troon-managed golf courses are often seen in televised tournaments.

Features
What to expect: Opened in fall 2002, this resort in the Gila River Indian Community is designed with earth-colored stucco exteriors and interiors featuring artwork by Native Americans. Guests enter on the top of the two-level lobby, which includes a two-story wall of glass offering a 180-degree view of the Sierra Estrella Mountains, a two-story stone desert garden with running water, and a ceiling with Native American paintings. Carved-wood bannisters lead down to the lower level where doors open out to the swimming pools. One wing of the resort uses Pima decorative motifs; the other, Maricopa. In the glass-walled lobby, museum cases display traditional crafts and art.

Amenity highlights: Attractions include two 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, an equestrian center, four outdoor swimming pools, and an 111-foot waterslide. The 17,500-square-foot Aji (meaning sanctuary) spa and fitness center offers a full array of body and beauty treatments, spa, sauna, and exercise classes amid elegant surroundings decorated with dark woods, leather couches, plush fabrics, and muted desert colors.

Insider tip: Regularly scheduled one-hour walking tours explore the various artworks and architectural significance of the resort. The Huhugam Heritage Center, a museum that includes Native American archaeological collections, art exhibits, classes, and a gift shop, is one mile away.

Ko'Sin - Ko'Sin means "kitchen," and this casual 180-seat restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features American cuisine with Southwestern touches: pancakes and burritos, burgers and chili-seared shrimp fajitas, peppered tuna filet and penne pasta. Dining is both indoors and outdoors, with views of the Estrella Mountains.

Kai - This signature restaurant features local foods grown on Gila River farms, including vegetables, citrus, wheat, melons, pistachios, olives, and aqua-farmed fish. Some recipes are hundreds of years old and some are innovative versions of traditional dishes, such as lobster on Indian fry bread and chicken breast with blue-corn crust.

Hanyo Poolside Bar and Grill - An outdoor restaurant among the free-form pools, Hanyo ("oasis") offers a full menu for those who want to dine poolside. The bar specializes in rum drinks.

Whirlwind Golf Club House restaurant and lounge - Southwestern cuisine for breakfast and lunch in view of the links.

Aji Spa-Health Bar - Light fare and healthy drinks with views of the gardens. Open daily.

Lobby Lounge - Set by the soft sounds of a waterfall in the resort's open-air lobby, the lounge serves light appetizers and signature cocktails, along with panoramic views.

My husband & I recently had a week's stay at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort. I really enjoyed myself! Our son moved to Phoenix a couple of years ago, is in an apart. with a roommate, so the last 2 years included a week's stay in a hotel. What a beautiful setting! My favorite time was at the pool & drinking poolside favorites at our leisure. It was always peaceful & calm, not crowded or rowdy. The pool I was taken with had a walk-in type beach effect where I could lay in the water with my head & arms on a towel & the pool would increase in depth to 3'9". We were on the go much of the time, & didn't eat dinners there. (Chandler Fash. Mall area has a lot of good eating places -my favorite being FISH ROCK. Also in Tempe/ Phoenix, can't remember which, don't miss a chance to go to OREGANO'S. Unfortunately I can't tell you about the casino, spa, or horseback riding, since our main point of going to Phoenix was to visit our son. We didn't use the extras, however the prices were pretty steep to me (course, so were the drinks). There was a lot less noise & a calm atmosphere at Wild Horse; more of an adult hotel. Children were at the hotel & in the pools, but it isn't really set for a family vacation like a few other places might be in the area. Being out at Wild Horse, a person definitely would want a car because the distance to places would cost a bundle in cab fees. If our son is not in his own apart. next summer, I want to come back to the peacefulness of Wild Horse.

The hotel food was better than average for a seated dinner of 200 people but slow on service. My single room was spacious and well appointed.

This is the best run, customer oriented hotel we have ever stayed at. The hotel staff positively the best. Check in & check out a breeze. Room was clean, quiet, & fairly new. This is the real Ariz. A jewel in the desert but still within reasonable driving distance to most venues. Casino, golf course, spa, western town on site.Rental car needed for off site trips. We have nothing negative to report. The pools are even heated during cool days/evenings This hotel is run by mostly native americans(mariposo tribe, i belived) & have done a fantastic job with hotel design & ambiance. The food is very good to excellent depending on which restaurant. You can't go wrong with this one. Would definitely go back.

It was dissapointing that as a guest it was near impossible to dine at this hotel. The restaraunts were either booked out or closed and due to its distance from the city other alternatives are limited - it was a nice hotel but if you stay here make sure you book at the restaraunt of your choice and confirm that its open on the night of your stay
