| Loved the hotel, pool, and the room (it actually was deluxe except for the single bed), but if you didn't want to walk into town (a 20 min. walk--part of it on a narrow walkway next to traffic-- plus a very steep walk up a long driveway to the hotel), cabs were a minimum of ten Euros for a five-minute ride. If you want to eat in town or go back and forth, the cost adds up. None of the taxi drivers used meters--it was just always 10-12 Euros for a short drive. On the other hand, the walk is lovely and ferry access to Portofino is easy from Rapallo. Rapallo has a few lovely shopping streets a block in from the seaside.
