Features
What to expect: Once a separate island but now joined to Great Abaco's eastern shore, 1,450-acre Treasure Cay is a private development that includes the Treasure Cay Hotel and Marina and some vacation homes. The property juts a half-mile into the Atlantic Ocean. Low-key and tranquil, the hotel attracts leisure travelers who are content to golf, swim, snorkel, fish, sail, and sunbathe in casual surroundings. Amenity highlights: Across the narrow road 400 yards north of the hotel, a 3.5-mile, curved beach of powdery, nearly white sand slopes gently into the turquoise Atlantic Ocean. The beach is 100 yards wide at its central point, where lounge chairs, picnic tables, thatched shades and the Coco Beach Bar await guests. Adjacent to the hotel's 150-slip marina and Tipsy Seagull Bar, guests swim in a medium-sized pool and bask on a sundeck. Insider tip: For a fee, a scheduled shuttle bus offers day trips to Great Abaco Island's principal town, Marsh Harbour, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The bus makes the 30-mile drive in the mornings and returns in the late afternoons.

| This was our first time to the Bahamas. Treasure Cay is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Its easy to see why it is one of the worlds top 10 beaches. Treasure Cay Resort & Hotel was a very nice place to stay. Everyone was friendly and courteous. I would recommend Treasure Cay for a vacation anytime.

| This resort could be nice if they put a little money and time into renovating it. The suites are a nice size, but there is not much else. The shower door in one of the bathrooms was falling off and there were ants all over the sink. The other bathtub/shower was clogged. The carpet is old and dirty. It's too bad, because it could be a nice place.

| We started with a standard room, and was not happy with how small it was on the main floor. They were not very busy and gave us a marine view suite which was 3 times bigger with a 40% discount. Well worth the change. The restaurant food at the Spinaker was not that good. We would recommend better food at "Cocoanuts" down the road. We were surprised how limited we were for restaurants (3) nearby. It is a very "layed back" area so don't expect too much for service. Probably the best place to stay in the area, unless you have a beach front home within walking distance. The shops nearby are handy.
