Features
What to expect: Featuring chalet-style architecture and honey-hued wood, this development dominates Heavenly Village at South Lake Tahoe's main intersection. Opened in late 2002, Grand Residence Club includes ground-floor retail shops. The village eventually will include an ice-skating rink and a multiplex movie theater. The only parking available at the Grand Residence Club is in a garage for a daily fee, valet service included.

Amenity highlights: Access to the Heavenly Valley gondola is 30 yards from the lobby. In a courtyard open to mountain views and air, a large pool and two eight-person spas supply year-round relaxation, while a surrounding deck provides sunning space. A health spa offers body/facial treatments and includes a fitness center and sauna and steam room.

Insider tip: Grand Residence Club guests are permitted to enjoy three firepits located on a terrace fronting Fire & Ice restaurant just yards from the pool deck.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are several dining options within the surrounding area.

This is a really clean, well serviced hotel. The concierge was very knowledgable about the area and helpful in making reservations. The pool and fitness facilities were clean. The rooms were wonderful with jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, DVD players and balconies. This hotel is great because it's close to everything. The only thing I request changing is charging for valet parking. It should be complimentary.

This is definitely the place to stay if you are interested in going to Tahoe. No need for a rental car, you can walk to casino and shopping IS part of the hotel. If you want to go to the lake, there are buses/trollies that run frequently to take you there. The studio has a complete kitchen... and grocery is just across the street. There's an area just for kids - we'll bge taking ours next time!

The hotel facilities were beautiful--large, well equipped rooms, nice grounds, well located. But poor front desk service. Waited several hours for room to be cleaned upon check in. Front desk staff seemed indifferent to numerous customer complaints at the front desk and bell desk. Not typical of a Marriott.

All staff at hotel very helpful. My one concern was that there is no self-parking. It's valet only and it's $14.00 per day.

The hotel isn't a full hotel. So it shows in the pool area- the place was never cleaned up througout the day, towels sat on chairs for hours unused. One day there were no towels for hours. Tons of little kids, felt like a preschool- rooms are great and comfortable. But if you are looking for a true outdoor adventure- this isn't the place- but for little kids it's nice.

This hotel was worth every penny and more. My husband and I have teenage boys and don't get the chance to leave them. We got a late start but managed to check in around 8:30pm. From the time we entered the gate everything seemed to run like clockwork. The valet quickly unloaded our car and had the bellman bring our things to our room within 5min. Checkin was very easy and the clerk courtious. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but the best part was the quiet. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

Can't beat Lake Tahoe to get away from the heatwave in Sacramento. Lake Tahoe and its activities are unique to its location. The hotel and accomodations are clean and comfortable. Full kitchen. My only complaint is with the parking. It is valet only. What a hassel if you only want something out of the car. Had some problems with the air/heating.

Had a fabulous time. The staff was friendly and helpful. The jacuzzi was great after hiking followed by a massage. Lew Marnel's is right down the street with a fantastic wine list. Great location because places were in walking distance. Good to see that Starbuck's has not killed the smaller coffee shops. Interesting that the room had a blender and a food warmer. Overall a great time was had. I wish the stay could've been longer.
