Features
What to expect: This two-story hotel with whitewashed façade and royal-blue awnings feels more Greek Isles than Mexican Riviera. The lobby is reminiscent of a ship's bridge, complete with porthole windows. Couples will appreciate the privacy and quiet, an impressive feat considering the hotel's location in the midst of Playa del Carmen's nightlife and shopping. The hotel is designed for adults and discourages children under 16. Amenity highlights: The hotel's restaurant, the Glass Bar, serves Italian cuisine in a sidewalk-café setting with indoor and outdoor seating. An extensive wine list and selection of wines by the glass make it unusual for the area. Room service (limited hours) is provided by the Glass Bar. Mosquito Blue also has its own beach club, a 10-minute walk away. Insider tip: The front-desk staff can make appointments and recommendations for Itz'a Spa, located directly behind the hotel. The spa specializes in Mayan-inspired treatments using plants collected from the tropical jungle. Some services can also be provided at the hotel.
The Glass Bar - Bustling sidewalk café serving Mediterranean cuisine. Full bar with emphasis on wine, both by the bottle and glass. Private room available. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner; no reservations required. The Library - Two-story open-air atrium with lounge seating, pool table, and bar. Shelves of books in English, Spanish, German, Italian, and French. Mosquito Beach Club and Restaurant - Located at hotel's beach club, about a 10-minute walk north. Casual cuisine served in open-air restaurant/bar and at beachside lounge chairs.

| MB is a beautiful boutique hotel with lush grounds. This was our second stay. Good economical choice with a great location. You can walk to all the shops, restaurants & bars from the hotel. The only drawback is that the rooms/bathrooms are not very spacious. Very clean but not very large. You'll want to be outside anyway. The pool, spa & outdoor palapas at the hotel are simply gorgeous!

| Nice front desk people. Rooms are small but interesting (cool color schemes!). A few ants sneaking in from the balcony but overall a great place.

| This was a great hotel! The room was beautiful; the restaurant was nice; and most important of all, the staff was terrific! They made our stay that much more enjoyable. We were long overdue for a vacation like this so we were hoping that we would be pampered. The Mosquito Blue didn't let us down. We can't wait to see all the great folks that we met during our first trip. We both liked the The Glass Bar (restaurant) as well. Give them a try!!

| When you book a "boutique hotel", you expect top quality service. This is just a three stars hotel. Don't expect more.

| Very modern, swanky yet minimalistic design. awesome location, central to everything. Beautiful, serene & clean pool that doesn't get crowded. Nice staff who respond quickly to all requests. The only complaint is the dark bathroom with the black walls and no shelf space. It had one tiny mirror and a stand-alone sink with no space to put toiletries so we had to put everything on the floor. The light was too dim so we couldn't tell what our make-up was like until we got outside.

| Mosquito Blue was great! I have been home less than a week and have already sent my itinerary to several friends looking for a wonderful "get away." Playa still has an authenticity you don't find in many vacation destinations and Mosquito Blue made the stay comfortable and romantic. Totally recommend the Deluxe Room...can't beat the balcony and courtyard/pool. Enjoyed some wonderful wine and a lovely dinner street-side at the Glass Bar on our final night...Highly recommend this trip and hotel particularly for someone looking for an easy long weekend "holiday." GREAT alternative to the "resort" scene.

| Mosquito Blue Hotel & Spa is a wonderful get-away boutique hotel right in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Location is perfect. And the hotel was a pleasant escape from the "too-trendy" hotels of the day. It was warm, inviting and peaceful. One of the more quiet hotels, yet a step away from all of the fun Playa has to offer! Staff was extremely helpful, attentive and nice. Felt very welcome and safe. An absolute gem!

| Mosquito Blue Playa Del Carmen is an absolutely beautiful and serene property. The Italian owners brought their contemporary European sensibility and style to the Playa while maintaining a Mexican feel. The property is fully enclosed, an oasis in the middle of town, with a short walk to the beach. We stayed toward the front of the property and at night we did experience the energy of the street nightlife; however, being from South Beach, Florida, we like that alive vibe. Our room and the grounds were absolutely clean and well kept. The front desk speaks English and the staff (including the restaurant) is extremely professional. The restaurant and bar are excellent, great food and Italian wines. Do not expect a lot of chit chat initiated by the servers, this is an Italian establishment where service is executed in a manner that respects your private moment. Mosquito Blue delivers the 5 star experience that sophisticated travelers expect.

| Beautiful hotel right in the middle of the lively 5th avenue strip. The glass bar, a very nice Italian restaurant is attached to the hotel. They had the best coffee in town as well. I would recommend this to any one and will certainly go back if I return to Playa Del Carmen

| The hotel was very quiet, very clean, very private pool area. The staff was very friendly. If you want a really nice relaxing vacation, with no stress or noise. I would recommend this hotel. Within walking distance are all the busy, city streets, restaurants, vendors and all the fun you can possibly imagine. The beautiful ocean is just 2 blocks away. Highly recommended.
