Tivoli Hotel Almansor Amenities
The hotel has a Health Club where guests can have saunas and Turkish baths, use the cardiovascular machines and free weights in the gym, or have massages or manicures at the Beauty Salon. Of the three swimming pools, one is for children. There are plenty of sun loungers dotted around and a children’s activity room (unsupervised). There are also two tennis courts at the front of the hotel, a small climbing wall, and a putting green.

Ten conference rooms cater for up to 900 delegates in theater style. The largest room, the Almansor (with large murals on the wall) can be divided into smaller rooms. Most rooms have natural light and audiovisual facilities are available.

Recreation
The Children’s Activity Room by the outdoor swimming pools is an unsupervised place for children aged 4-12 years old to play games, do some painting, or other creative activities. During the winter months it is only open for a few hours a day, depending on the weather. Guests should note that whilst there is not a babysitting service, the hotel does have an entertainment team which organizes activities for both children and adults, including table tennis, archery, badminton, and climbing - the hotel has a climbing wall set up outdoors on a small section of the hotel.

The Scuba Diving Center is open all year and offers introductory courses, snorkeling, PADI Open-Water Diver, Advanced, Rescue Diver, and Dive Master qualifications, subject to demand and availability.

There are two tennis courts outside at the top level (entrance level) of the hotel, which guests can hire along with balls and equipment, or take private classes. Alternatively there is a small putting green close to the swimming pools.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

Features
What to expect: From the front of the hotel it appears that the hotel is only one story high, but in fact it has five storys - built downwards into the cliff face. Therefore guests park their cars and enter the large tiled lobby on the fifth floor! Here there is a large central glassed-in conservatory, long reception desk, high-speed Internet access, a gift shop and seating area, where leisure guests can buy their papers and postcards, check their email or simply cool off from the midday sun.

Amenity highlights: The hotel has one indoor and two outdoor pools, a Health and Beauty Center, a Scuba Diving Center, tennis courts and a putting green. There are also various meeting rooms catering for up to 900 delegates.

Insider tip: A few kilometers from the hotel is the São José convent, an XVIIIth century building, with a gilt wood-carved altar. The old revolving panel in the door used to receive unwanted babies. The convent now hosts a variety of events and exhibitions.

Guests of the hotel enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast daily.

A Varanda - Located by the lobby, this restaurant has a brick ceiling, dark wood furniture, and a verandah with views of the swimming pool, the sea, and cave below.

Patio Restaurant - Decorated with cane furniture and yellow walls, with typical blue and white Portuguese porches or ceramic plates on the walls, this restaurant is open for buffet breakfast (with eggs cooked to order) during high season or when there are more than 150 guests staying at the hotel. Otherwise breakfast is at A Varanda restaurant. Also during high season guests can have a buffet dinner here, with two meat and two fish dishes plus a selection of vegetables, pastas, salads, and sweets.

Grotto Bar - This is the hotel’s main bar and is decorated with red chairs, low stools, and models of old ships adorning the walls. There is daily entertainment here - from music to magic and horse racing games – as well as a small dance floor and balcony overlooking the outdoor swimming pool.

Bogart’s Bar - Furnished with red and champagne colored sofas and chairs, this bar has a large TV, games tables (backgammon and chess) and a pool table, plus a balcony looking onto the pool, where guests can sip a cocktail.

Pool Bar - A small wooden hut by the outdoor swimming pool, this bar is open in summer only, offering cocktails, sandwiches, snacks and ice creams.

Sunset Bar - This small wooden bar serves cocktails and other drinks, and is open during the summer months. Here guests can watch the sunset with views of the swimming pool, putting green, hotel, cliffs, and cave.

Palmeira Coffee Shop - Open during the summer months only, this coffee shop is located by the swimming pool and serves light snacks.
