What to expect: From the front of the hotel it appears that the hotel is only one story high, but in fact it has five storys - built downwards into the cliff face. Therefore guests park their cars and enter the large tiled lobby on the fifth floor! Here there is a large central glassed-in conservatory, long reception desk, high-speed Internet access, a gift shop and seating area, where leisure guests can buy their papers and postcards, check their email or simply cool off from the midday sun. Amenity highlights: The hotel has one indoor and two outdoor pools, a Health and Beauty Center, a Scuba Diving Center, tennis courts and a putting green. There are also various meeting rooms catering for up to 900 delegates. Insider tip: A few kilometers from the hotel is the São José convent, an XVIIIth century building, with a gilt wood-carved altar. The old revolving panel in the door used to receive unwanted babies. The convent now hosts a variety of events and exhibitions.
