| Nice relaxing place, but service is a real problem. Wait staff is horrible. Careful when you book as they are notorious for overbooking at Cocobay (us and many others when we were there). We inadvertantly saw the bill they paid to surrounding resorts for "overflow" and it was quite high. It appears as if they overbook on purpose given that you have already paid, or worse, already there when you find out. We figured a possible conspiracy, but that's another article all together. However, they do make ammends and the manager is very helpful. Overall, pretty nice trip.

| Cocobay Resort is everything it says, with low-tech amenities & breath-taking views being the best description. It is extremely relaxing & low key. For more excitement, Jolly Harbor is only a 5-10 min. ride by taxi. It was well worth the extra charge for our beautiful water-view cabin. Don't overload your suitcases. Beachwear with cover-ups is fine for day & evening wear needs not be much more than polo shirts & slacks for both sexes. Food was adequate in taste & plentiful in amount as were the drinks. Bring an extension cord because of the near-ceiling placement of the only bathroom power source. Fog the room each night on the way to dinner with bug spray available for purchase in the lovely gift store. Bring body bug spray with 29-35 % DEET. We had no bites but some guests did. Clean bath towels are returned in late afternoon. Ask for 2 sets or you will find none in your room until 3 or 4 PM. The breeze through the louvered, well-screened windows is delightful but it can get chilly at night. This was the most relaxing vacation we have had for a long time, including one in Tahiti, which was MUCH more expensive both in cost & travel time. All else being said, with a few additional low-tech amenities like brighter bed-side lamps, a blanket, or a large umbrella in each room, Cocobay could be an extraordinary property for its price. As it was, it was just GREAT!

| Not typical all inclusive place. Not in touristy area of island but also not close to much of anything of interest besides beautiful ocean views! 3 Beaches to go to, 2 were ok but one was awesome! Need to provide bug repellant or candles. Shuttle would be nice $20 to anywhere on island on taxi!? Use private car rental its cheaper than tourist or airport avis ones, scooters are dangerous there! Food was great at dinner. Lunch and breakfast were adequate but not note worthy. Inclusive drinks were good. Tip the guys even though its all inclusinive, a little goes a long way!! Honeymoon beach view hut upgrade, flowers and champagne was nice touch! Tourguide wasnt too helpful, better off finding a local to "hook" you up foir less. Bargin and deal its easy. Do NOT stay at the sister hotel oacross the island, its a dump and not inclusinve!
