| Stayed in the Carlton Hotel twice for a couple of days on a round trip to Europe and even though there was a month between stays staff remembered us on our return stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms a good size and clean. Strangely no alarm clock in room but obviously you can book a wake up call. Nice pool, with separate paddling pool for children. Restaurants OK but of course more expensive than a general restaurant. Hotel is in good location for Orchard Road shopping and Bugis (?) Road street market. Raffles city just across the road where there is an MRT station. Overall a good place to stay for a few days (like Singapore) I would stay there again

| I really liked this hotel. It's nice and it's in the perfect location in Singapore near shopping and restaurants. The detraction is that they book a lot of flight crews that arrive after midnight. Rooms are frequently cleaned after midnight which means the door to the room is left open directly across the hall from you preventing a restful night's sleep. I asked the deskperson if there would be cleaning of rooms across from mine that night since I was kept awake after midnight the night before and she said no. Sure enough, there was the cleaning crew later that night throwing buckets around. Then, around 2:00 am someone moves in to the room next to mine and start moving the glasses around in the bathroom. I didn't get to sleep until 3 am and I was recovering from an illness and had to go to work the next day. I stayed here for 4 weeks (the first couple weeks were ok). The Internet Service quit on me half the time so I had to call Internet Technical Support to get them to fix the connection.

| reasonable price, good location, couldn't figure out how to turn off and/or adjust the air condition. tv remote kept dropping batteries. tub okay but too small (thin). secret self-service clothes washing machine on 8th (and 7th?) floor that i used several times cost $16 (sing dollars) per load (still cheaper than full-service hotel laundry). need lots of clean clothes for hot & humid singapore. also save money buying food & snacks from shopping mall across the street (instead of using room service / snack bar / fridge). american style breakfast expensive and not too good. lunch same. local food much better and cheaper but takes time to find the right places.

| Hotel service is A-OK, porters will need to be trained further to help with luggages especially when you arrived so late at night, and nobody greets you over the main door...
