This was our first time in Phoenix. The service was very good; the hotel was nice and clean. The people from the front desk were friendly and courteous. The room was cleaned twice a day, once in the morning, once around 5 - 6 pm. The staff was also very nice and friendly. The hotel is kid friendly, especially during the week with lots of activities for children. The pool was clean, however in week-ends lots of adults were drinking beer in lazy river and they were spilling some of it in the water. Maybe a nice plese don't drink and spill in the pool from the staff to these guests would have been helpful. The music from the restaurants at night was great too and exactly at 10 pm ended every night. It was a very relaxing and laid back atmosphere. The only thing that we did not like was that the refrigerator was very small and it was not cold. You could barely fit 3 cans of soda in there... Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. We are looking forward to book another trip to Phoenix and stay here again.

Both fine food and nice rooms make the Desert Ridge a great place for adults, but the pools and kids' play area also make in nice for families.

The hotel is very new, clean and elegant. My 7-year old loved the lazy river. We only stayed one night, but I would have enjoyed staying longer.

We took our kids there before they go back to college. Grounds were immaculate. Loved the cactus gardens and mountain views. Food was fabulous. Pools were crowded for the weekend but then were quite nice. Greens could have been kept up better but courses were great. Wouldn't mind going back someday.

I visited the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and SPA in Phoenix, AZ to do two things mix some personel business with pleasure. The resort is top notch, with different levels of accomidations to suit everyones budget. The facility has a excellant SPA, but prices are a little higher than some of the other facilities we've stayed in before. The Resort has two great Golf courses onsite with a Arnold Palmer Signature course and a Nick Faldo course. I played both and found them to be in great shape and the price for playing was even better than I expected. They even offer a summer special with lunch included that you can download simply by visiting there wed site. Range balls are included and unlimited. Equipment rental was available and new sets of Callaway Woods and irons was the equipment on hand. Food was very good and not to pricy. Location was in close proximity of shopping area with lots of different dinning options available. If you stay for several days a short 3 to 4 hour drive to the Grand Canyon is recommended and the facility will provide excellent driving directions and maps at the concerige desk to anywhere you want to visit. The resort also offers several packages such as a romance package which includes several nice choices. All and all my wife and I had a great time and would visit again and recommend others to visit as well.

We spent a week at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. We visited during the heat wave and the temperatures reached 118!! The lazy river was a nice way to relax and cool off in the heat. Loved having a Starbucks in the hotel. We had morning coffee and read the newspaper outside looking at the beautiful views from the hotel. I personally took advantage of the tennis facitilities. I visited the tennis center 5 of the 6 days we were at the hotel and all the staff were great! They provided matching services for me with someone in the local neighborhood and I took lessons with one of their trainers. We also took a couple of day trips to Sedona and Scottsdale. Even though we received maps and directions from the concierge before we took off on our day trips we still needed to call them, while on the road, to get specific directions to restaurants and other locations. They were extremely helpful and had the information we needed readily available or looked it up on the computer. This hotel appears to cater to the convention crowd - there were many conventions being held in the facility while we were there. However, as vacationers, we received outstanding customer service!

I visited a few popular hotels when I was in Phoenix/ Scottsdale area and I believe this hotel has the best arrangements so far. The lobby, outdoor patio, garden and pool area are gorgeous and impressive. We felt like we're vacationing in Hawaii minus the beach. Hotel staff friendliness needs some improvement.
