| Hatchet resort is a nice stopping point before heading into the Park. The staff is friendly. The rooms were clean. We loved the cabin feeling inside the rooms. The fishing in the area is great.

| We visited in July 06 for a week. We found the location (halfway between Jackson and Yellowstone NP, a few miles from an entrance to Grand Teton NP, and right at the edge of the Bridgerton-Teton National Forest) to be perfect for our day hike ambitions. Of course, that also means it is fairly remote (you may want to stay closer to Jackson for the night life). As noted by others, the water in the room reminded us of some of the thermal features at Yellowstone, but it wasn't unbearable. The restaurant food was good and everyone treated us as we expected (well). It got warm in the room a couple of unusually hot days, but there were screens on the windows and they provided good ventilation. Mosquitoes are a fact of life in the wilds of Wyoming (and most other places)--DEET kept them at bay. We enjoyed our visit.

| Overall the Hatchet Resort was a nice place to stay. We arrived late and our keys were left in an envelope on a bullitin board, I thought that was nice. The beds were good sized and the design of the hotel inside and out were nice. I enjoyed the log walls. The resort is about 35 minutes outside of Jackson Hole. There is a restaurant on site, though it's realatively expensive for dinner. The shower was large (the size of a bathtub). The thing I didn't enjoy or expect was the water quality. The shower and sink had a sulfer smell, equivelant to that of a hot spring. Other then that it's a nice place to stay, and for the price can't be beat.

| We encountered problems finding the resort since our directions had gotten misplaced. That, I confess, was not the hotel's fault nor was the fact that we were so enthralled sightseeing we didn't begin trying to locate the hotel until almost 8:15 pm MDT. I used our cellphone to call the hotel switchboard for directions only to get a recording and a menu of options, none of which led to reaching a live person or offered directions. After wandering we finally got directions from a gas station. Pulled up to the Hatchet Resort office to find it closed and, though two envelopes which I assume were keys for late arrivees were posted outside, neither was ours. Luckily the grill manager who was locking up at 9pm managed to get into the office, locate our expedia reservations and give us a room key but if we'd been a couple of minutes later arriving we'd have had way to retrieve a key. The room was comfortable, well-maintained and met our needs but the advertised hot-tub was closed for repairs and the office was only open after 8am, long after we left to drive back up into Yellowstone. We never learned what time they closed in the evening but it was before we returned from sightseeing. Perhaps they keep more customer friendly hours later in the season but this was the week before Memorial Day and we have never stayed anywhere before where you couldn't find someone manning the desk. I wouldn't recommend it unless you know you 'll be arriving before 5pm and have excellent directions.

| This hotel is a little remote if one plans to venture to Jackson Hole, but we enjoyed that aspect. The views were incredible on the drive. The service from the employees was outstanding. The restaurant on the premises had very good food. Our only complaint was that the water smelled like sulfur. We had to use bottled water to brush our teeth.

| We were there for our honeymoon and completely loved the hotel. It was quaint, rustic and yet, very elegant with the slate tiles in the bathroom. We plan on going back!

| This motel was in a good location between Jackson and Yellowstone and that was good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The complimentary beverages were good. Overall it was nice week stay at the motel. The room could have been a bit cleaner and we may have used the hot tub if the water had not been greenish in color.
