| Renovated hotel in fabulous Virginia-Highlands neighborhood. Single room is comfortable, clean but not fancy. Lack of bedside table and lamp made reading in bed difficult. Continental breakfast is plentiful but high in sugar and fat content. Coffee was weak and tasteless but there is a local barista within the block.

| My wife and I were recommended to stay at the Hightlands Inn, by a friend of ours who had just moved from Atlanta. This place is perfect. Very cheap, and in walking distance to all the cool bars and food joints you could ask for. You are in the heart of one of the hipest places in Atlanta. Do youself a favor, save some cash by staying here, and then have a blast!! A great way to refer to the rooms are "like staying with Grandma" only you a mini-fridge, cable tv, and a private bathroom to yourself. We loved the neighboorhood so much we even checked out real estate while visiting. Highly recommended the Cafe next door, Eclipse De Sol for some food. Bars...try Darkhouse and Manuels Tavern. Also make sure you try Manuels micro-brew!!

| The Highland Inn lived up to my expectations. I liked the vintage building and the quaint, hip little neighborhood surrounding it. Convenient, too; the bus stop was just outside the front door. I would stay there again.

| Location is the key feature of the Highlands Inn and the price is tough to beat. Within easy walking distance (try out the front door) of several yummy eateries. A longer hike takes one to the heart of Virginia/Highlands in one direction and Little 5 Points in the other. These have always been Atlanta's hip little artsy neighborhoods and they still are - though a bit more yuppified. They do advertise being a WIFI hotspot - actually the sign out front calls it a "cool" spot intending the attitude but acurately describing the extremely limited signal range. The signal is not available in your small (by U.S. standards) room and the breakfast room (where it's best) was quite warm despite the valiant efforts of a weezing window air conditioner (it was a major heat wave and temps were way above average). Despite these minor things - smallish room, squishy bed, limited WIFI - I would definitely stay again. If you like chains, you probably won't like it BUT if you like charm the Highland is for you.

| If you want great location, something inexpensive, and a friendly staff this is a good choice. However, it is not a comfortable place in terms of amenities and layout within the room. They provide great coffee, donuts, cereal and fruit in the downstairs concierge room. Very clean and the staff try their best.

| I didn't stay here for the quality accommodations. I stayed here for the excellent location within walking distance to Virginia Highlands and Little Five Points--two very cute, hip, fun neighborhoods full of shops and restaurants. The hotel was also very close to downtown Atlanta and Emory University. The area seemed safe, and the hotel was cute (old but it had charm). If you need a cheap hotel in a great location, this is your place.

| The Highland Inn is not like other hotels. It's a very old building with lots of character. My room was small, but had everything I needed (including refrigerator, small dresser, closet, TV, etc). The room was clean but had a slightly musty odor to it. The continental breakfast was over the top: Krispy Kreme, croisants, cereal, cinnamon rolls, fruit, and more. I had two problems with my stay. One was parking: it's included but empty spaces are hard to come by, I had to circle the neighborhood many times. And there was an unfortunate dog in a pen next to the hotel, I could hear him clearly outside my room and he barked throughout the night.
