Features
What to expect: Green lawns, flowering gardens, and sweeping views of the blue Atlantic attract guests to this 4.5-acre beachside resort, where they are left alone to rest and relax. Amenity highlights: Located on a cliff 90 feet above the Atlantic, a medium-size kidney-shape pool surrounded by a sundeck furnished with lounge chairs provides swimming/sunning opportunities and panoramic ocean views. Curved around one side of the pool, Palms Restaurant & Bar also offers ocean views as well as tranquil dining at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A steep, 300-foot path winds down the cliffside through shady gardens to the ocean. Variable in size depending on the ocean's caprices and shielded by a soaring rock wall, a little pink-shade beach, complemented by a concrete platform at the water's edge, provides isolated sunbathing. Insider tip: Just 0.5 mile from the resort, Bermuda's popular Railway Trail, from which all types of motor vehicles are barred, offers walking, jogging, and sightseeing opportunities. The trail runs the length of the island.
Palms Restaurant & Bar - Adjacent to pool. Panoramic ocean views. Enclosed dining room with linen-draped tables, hanging plants, ceiling fans, stone wall. Also, terrace seating under white awning. American-style breakfast. Lunch of salads, sandwiches, burgers, fish. Dinner includes dishes such as oysters Rockefeller, shrimp spring roll, poached wahoo, grilled veal chop, rack of lamb.

| The hotel was in a beautiful location and had a beautiful pool, which I believe was operated and maintained by the resturant owners who were not part of the Surf Side Management. The rooms had spectacular views of the ocean but were poorly maintained. Paint was peeling from the ceilings and the nothing has been updated since the early 70's. There were no accomodations to use the beach. One is left to their own to make the best of a unnecessary discomfort. The beach and oceam were beautiful but difficult to appreciate at the Surf Side. The staff was attentive and accomodating. Would love to recommend this facility but would for warn visitors about the condition and lack of oceanside accomodations. No beach chairs or chase lounge chairs. No umbrellas and difficult access to the beach. We made the best of things and enjoyed ourselves in spite of all the above.

| We wanted a peaceful place to relax and unwind, and we found it at the Surfside. A little away from the crowded touristy places, but convenient by bus. Our Superior Suite was roomy and clean and comfortable, everything we'd hoped for. We'll definitely go back!

| We chose this hotel because of the kitchenette feature - which was handy, since prices on the island are steep. It truly is a private accomodation, which was great - and the restaurant was very, very good. Most of the staff could not have been more pleasant - very nice and helpful. However, the "bloom is off the rose" here - the room could do with a serious make-over/updating. It was clean and roomy, but a little "tired". Still a good value, if you want to visit a local market and have breakfast, snacks, beer, etc. in your own suite.
